Is there anyway to make the backlight brighter?

No. The brightness should be really bright. The whole face of the watch lights up. It isn't just one corner.

Do you have to replace the battery

Yes. The battery is I believe a 7-8 year battery. If you don't use the backlight on it very much (I rarely do) it will last for years. I have another G Shock that is going on six years without needing a battery. The G Shock watches with "Tough Solar" will never need a battery. The GD350-1CR that you are asking about, will need a battery at some point down the road. I love this G Shock. Its my favorite one.

Can i set the alarm for a week day?

The watch has 5 daily alarms that flash or vibrate!

Extremely waterproof to 660 feet l have never had one leak !
