Fantastic boots, as good as I remember them
I am someone who has been regularly turning my ankle over since a fall back in November 2016. Since then I've got various casts and wobble boards to help strengthen the ankle, but in shoes there is always the susceptibility to another turn. because of this I decided I needed more boots that cover the ankle as walking is one of the pastimes I really enjoy and use to supplement other exercises. As part of this I decided my 24 year old 10 eye DMs were in need of another pair to share some load and so i bought these. Some of the reviews seemed to indicate the quality was lower these days as they aren't all made in england. Lots of stuff isn't made in England nowadays and is fine. These boots fall into that category. The leather was gorgeous on arrival, and the colour was as I remember and very obviously new as it bore no cracks or scuffs. The boots themselves gave me an immediate nostalgia shot back to the 70s and 80s when I was never without a pair for those less formal occasions like football or general nights out.I have been wearing these indoors and outdoors since arrival and they are stiff enough to need breaking in, but these days I find that quite reassuring...much like an album that requires several listens to get into, but then remains with you for life. The fit is so good that even the breaking in process has been no more than a bit uncomfortable around the upper ankle and instep areas, but as each day goes by that lessens and the sheer warmth and comfort grows every step. as I say, I love my walking and have my Karrimor boots for beaches, bridlepaths and rougher terrain, but for cities of cobbles (Prague/Rome etc) and pavements such as an upcoming visit to York, then I think these will be perfect for the comfort the bouncing airwair soles provide. A great product, that looks great and a very good price on Amazon.

Love them my first ever pair.
I really wanted a pair of doc Martins. First put them on and felt like I had a pair of work boots on lol. Soon got used to them. Took some getting used to them and breaking them in mind. Not the most comfortable pair I.ve ever own mind. But they look good. They do rub your legs and hurt your toes a bit but still breaking them in ,no blisters anyway. The idea is wear long socks to break them in first. Not the easiest to get on either lol

Simply, perfect
These classic and iconic boots really live up to their name. Despite being new and the material obviously quite stiff, they are still quite comfortable to wear and are very rugged and durable. They also tend to go well with whatever I am wearing which tends to be fairly dark clothing with grey or black skinny jeans, but suite my look well nonetheless.More to the point the price of these are amazing for the fact that you are getting original and authentic Doc's. In most shoe shops, the price of the classic coloured Doc's never drop below £100 even during sales, so to get a pair for less than £80, I was ecstatic.I am still wearing them in but thoroughly enjoying them. And I recommend getting one size up from what you normally wear so that you have enough room in them for your feet to breath. I usually wear 9-9.5, so got a size 10 and fit perfectly. The seller was very quick to dispatch and they arrived in good time and undamaged.Much recommended.

Great fit, great boot.
Twenty years ago I used to live in DMs and a few years back I tried to buy some more but had real problems in getting any to fit. The women's were too narrow and the sizes inconsistent. As these were such a great price and also included free returns I decided to give it another go. I'm so glad I did as they are great! In certain shoes (e.g. Clarks, which include half sizes) I'd ideally wear a 6.5 but as this is rarely an option in most brands, I went for a 7. They are not too narrow, are the size I'd hope from a 7 and will be super once they have been 'broken in'. On that note, if you are considering these as your first pair of DM boots, it's worth noting that the leather is really sturdy (will last a long time) and they do take a while to soften up. (Compeed plasters on your heels and wearing a couple of pairs of socks for the first few weeks should be enough to get them comfy without too much discomfort - it'll be worth it!)

The boots for me, but go back 30 years to buy them!
These boots are very comfy and will last a few years. They are not the same very hard wearing boots of my teenage years in the early 1980"s, when they were made in England. In those days, they would last 10 years of use in the workplace. Now, you get 3 or 4 years of wear out of them. These are obviously made abroad and whilst they look similar to the boots of my youth, they never reach that level of comfort and they do feel of less quality, the leathher is less supple, the soles are less hard wearing and wear out and split far sooner than the boots of my earlier working years almost 30 years ago. However, I still love these boots and would not choose any other brand, even if the quality has dropped when the manufacturing left our shores. I have to compare these boots with the current competition (I have tried Magnums and other brands & hate them all) so I would give them 5, but I cannot give a product that score, knowing that it is just a pale imitation of what it used to be, so it gets a 4.

Wow factor!
Damn near perfect. Price I got them for were only £35 from Amazon, which is a great start!. They look great and fit perfect in my size 9. They have a nice wide-ish fit. The 1461 shoes are just to narrow for me in the same size, they pinch my outer toes and had to be sent back. The insoles on these boots are bigger than the size 9 shoes of the 1461 shoe. These are my first ever dr martens and I'm really impressed. I know they are not made in the UK which does bother my slightly as I cannot afford the price for England made set. I've a placed my shoe trees in to help the with comfort and look of the boots. Overall for the price and comfort factor, they are great value. Big thanks to Amazon for a super fast delivery. Very happy with my purchase.
