A bit disspointed

My friend went to Mexico a few years ago, and gifted me a lovely pair of beaded earrings. They are my favorite but starting to deteriorate after 5 years. I was desperately trying to find something similar to these earrings. I found these to not quite meet my expectations because from the photo I couldn't tell how heavy they were. They were also a bit darker in color (I am referring to the blue pair) in the posted photo. These were so light that when I tried them on the backing immediately bent and the post would not enter the backing. I sort of expected more for $10.00
