Great for Basic, Everyday Browsing
I was looking for a basic, everyday browsing online laptop and this fits the bill perfectly. Purchased for $380. If it was any more expensive, I would probably skip it. For the price, it provides great value. From start up to web browser, it was under 10 seconds.Specifics: I am very particular when it comes to keyboard and touch pad. This has been a great laptop to just type on! The touch pad is decent enough to not mind. Battery life was an important factor for me. Considering that I only use this for browsing online, etc. it has given at least 4 hours of constant browsing. A lot of reviewing mentioned battery as a concern or issue, but it varies significantly depending on your use case. Sound quality is what you would expect from a lower priced laptop. I am not an audiophile, but the sound will suffice. Doesn't sound great obviously but gets the job.Overall, I believe this is a great starter laptop with fast performance, high build quality, and strong everyday performer.Important note: This laptop was easy to open with the right tools (iFix It Laptop Kit) and I upgraded the memory with an 8GB DDR 3200Mhz CL22 stick. Now totaling 16GB in memory, this laptop performs even better.

Great laptop for the money
I got this laptop from Amazon as used at $150 discount. It turns out it was never opened, the package was sealed with ASUS tape. The laptop had a problem at first, the trackpad would not register clicks unless pressed very hard. However the problem was gone all by itself withing couple of days. It came with 8GB RAM which I consider not to be enough. I added 32GB stick which I already had available, so now it has 40GB. Considered upgrading SSD but the one it came with turned out to be very recent model and pretty fast. Screen is not the brightest but it very sharp, can't complain. I think this laptop is very good deal especially if you can get it with discount.

Zippy and lots of features.
Nice laptop, especially for the price. I did the 0% Amazon payment thing so it didn’t really even hit my budget. I really like the fingerprint scanner and built in webcam cover. Lots of settings for sound. Great screen quality, very good battery life, fast computer. It’s not light, but I was looking more for fast, features, durable, and affordable. It definitely has all those covered.

Great Labtop; especially if on sale
Got this on a amazon deal for on the go video editing (daVinci resolve) and it works amazing for that! The screen is amazing and its snappy navigating everything. The only problem is the speakers are kinda tinny and not very loud to me; but the microphone is better then a wired one i use on my desktop so I guess it even's out. DO NOT buy this for any gaming though; even skyrim runs poorly on this but for everything else I recommend this HIGHLY

Senior who hates computers but I love this Asus!
I retired from the PC world (switched to ONLY iPhone) 10 yrs ago & swore I would never get another laptop or PC! I absolutely HATE them!Life changed; to my chagrin I had to buy another word processing laptop😱. My bff of 51 yrs is a tech w/HP & that’s what I’ve always used until this time when my research led me to buy Asus.I’ve had this laptop 4 a yr. this past Nov. and it’s absolutely wonderful! Keyboard is light as a feather; all the bells & whistles I need; I bought on Black Friday so the price was fabulous! Plus, I highly recommend the Asus ext warranty for as long as u can get it for. My laptop had a major repair at 1 yr. & their warranty svc. was absolutely incredible from free mail in svc. /daily updates/7day return svc. free of charge & their repair was perfect!!! Even a follow-up call a week later to be sure I was completely satisfied - incredible. My original concern with buying my laptop was the occasional Amazon customer review I read that said Asus put ALL their $$ into gaming laptops & that their regular 17” laptops (esp their Cust Svc) was terrible - so don’t purchase!I’m so glad I didn’t believe those reviews as I’ve found the exact opposite to be true w/this company! Truly, I can’t think of anything more they could do for me & my laptop except offer me a reasonably priced extension on the factory extended warranty I have? I would be interested in that! Ty Asus.

Randomly shuts off, wifi barely works. Great screen, tho
I've had this thing for two weeks and I've spent the entire time trying in vain to get it to work properly. It just shuts itself off and restarts. Does this under windows 11, 10, and two flavors of linux. Under win10, the wifi won't work, even after installing the latest drivers. Same story with linux. Amazingly, it doesn't want to get along with wifi dongles, either. The sound is distorted a lot of the time. Sometimes it isn't. Doesn't seem to be rhyme or reason to it.The screen, though, is beautiful and it's why I've been beating my head against the wall for two weeks. Ultimately, though, it's been two weeks and I haven't been actually using the thing, just trying to fix it. It's going back. This thing sucks.
