Instead, I entered a never-ending tragic comedy titled: “Frozen Expectations: The Ice Maker Chronicles.”Our ice maker has broken five times. Not once, not twice—five. Like a clingy ex, it keeps coming back just long enough to remind me why I hate it. Each time, I had to take off work, wait around for a technician, and listen to them confidently declare, “All fixed!” only to watch it die again like a soap opera character with a flair for dramatic exits.Let’s do the math:• Ice? This Samsung refrigerator has been a disappointment since it came through the door. At the appliance store yesterday the salesman mentioned the bad reputation Samsung has received because of it's ice makers and I stopped him and said YES, I've had to replace the ice maker twice on this refrigerator and now the compressor has gone out and it is only 7 years old now. Rather than dump more money into this pit of a refrigerator I had decided to buy a new LG. He agreed with me about the poor quality of Samsung and said he would never buy one. The whole experience with Samsung has been very poor from customer service to build quality of the device. Bottom line, I won't buy anything from Samsung again.

They are infamous for icemaker issues. Contacted customer service who admitted to knowing there's an issue but refused to make it right. Estimate to fix was $700
