The 3 light Gypsy Color Chandelier has a 14 ft. cord, switch and plug. the 4, 5, 6 and 9 light chandeliers are all direct connect chandeliers. Intended to be connected to a ceiling junction box. Gypsy Color does sell a "plug conversion kit which enables you to convert the direct connect chandeliers to one with a 14 ft. cord and plug.

Is the "white" chandelier truly white or is it more silver?

It is white! The clear crystals make it sparkly but it is NOT silver. The tiny rings inbetween the crystals are silver but they are small.

I want this to hang in a corner of my living room. I am interested in the plug in one. Do I need a swag kit for it?

The 3 light Gypsy Color chandelier already comes with a cord, switch and plug, so you do not need to buy the Plug extension kit. If you choose a 4,5,6, or 9 light chandelier, then you would need to buy the separate kit.
