These are darker in color and a bit lighter in weight, but dogs loved them! Nice and hard to give the dogs something to work at. One over half gone in one day. Don’t know if it’s because they are slightly lighter or dog just got after it,

The media could not be loaded. So, I want to start by saying that I was originally hesitant to buy these based on some of the reviews. The claims of moldy cheese and inability to refund or even replace this item made this quite the risky purchase, but I was so desperate from getting chewed on my by naughty JackChi puppy that I barely cared. I am glad to note, a few months later, that this had been a life changer!My puppy loves these things so much, he can chew these for quite some time. These being human-grade edible makes me relieved; most of the chew toys marketed for puppies are either not safe for swallowing, or get devoured in a heartbeat. With these, I can leave him to chew on them for quite some time (his attention span is pretty short still, and it definitely attracts his attention), and he can come back to it for more without it crumbling or getting gross. The hardness of the cheese stick keeps it from degrading even in the super humid area where we live.The sound of him chewing on it is pretty loud; it scared me the first few times I heard him gnawing, and I even wondered if it was too hard for him. He does enjoy it though, and he hasn’t had any issues so far (and we’ve had this bag for a few months now). The sticks are pretty hard, and my guy mostly shaves each stick down with his teeth LOL. I would say not to have your dog chewing this in any bedroom, as the little cheese shavings can attract pests. My puppy brings it to my bed to chew on, and I didn’t realize until much later that all his cheese shavings get in my pillow and sheets (see: him laying on my pink pillow and leaving all his little shavings). Based on the smell, it’s definitely genuine cheese at least…I bought the 1lb bag because I read some reviews saying their dogs go through the cheese sticks fast. That has NOT been my experience so far, it takes him at least 5 days to finish off one, but he’s had one for 2 weeks as well. The size of the bag was perfect for him- he’s a Jack Russel/Chihuahua mix, about small/medium size, and he’s been chewing on these since he was 4 months. It’s got him mostly through the teething phase, and has been a godsend as he gets bitey.BTW, I love that we can do something with the ends once it gets too small and becomes a choking hazard! As some other reviews taught me, you just have to wet the bit left with some water, wrap it loosely with a damp paper towel, and nuke it in the microwave for a bit! You know it’s done when it’s mostly puffed up (almost like a giant piece of popcorn LOL), and my pup LOVES IT. He chews it like chips when that happens, it’s his favorite part of the whole thing tbh.

Unsafe for my dog. When he was chewing on the first one, a sharp, pointy piece chipped/slivered off within 10 minutes. It was approximately .5” wide X 1.5” long & 3/4” thick so big enough that he could have choked on it, and very sharp ! Sharp enough to puncture the inside of his mouth or throat !!! And then when I went back n Amazon to set up a refund, it states it’s non-returnable 😠 Which I have never seen before on this site. I can only assume that the safety concerns are known and the reason why this seller chooses to put that policy in place. Not happy.

If you have a dog that loves to chew, buy these! They last a long time and they don't have a smell like others. My dog approves this product!!

I saw the reviews that didn't like the smell..well my 3 dogs love these a lot. I've tried several other brands but these are by far their favorite. This last bag was a darker brown color and didn't have any smell. They were less enthusiastic than they usually are when they get these but they are chewing on them as I write this. Our pack prefers a little aroma with our chews. I do recommend either way.

My puppy loves treats, but as soon as she smelt one of these she started growling at it. Gave it to my neighbors maybe their dog will like it.
