Color:White What are microgreens A microgreen is a young vegetable green originally used by fine dining chefs to enhance the attractiveness and taste of their dishes. It is harvested later than sprouts, and provide a variety of leaf flavors, such as sweet and spicy, for garnishing salads, soups, plates, and sandwiches. They are also known for their extremely high nutrient value, providing up to 40 times the nutrients of mature plant vegetables, according to a research paper on National Institutes of Health [1]. [1] https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5362588/ Ready to eat within a week Most sprouts grow within 2 to 7 days meanwhile the first leaves of microgreens are ready to consume in 7 to 10 days. Overpriced and poorly designed.
Followed the directions and after 5 days I have about a 5 to 10 percent sprout ratio. The rest of the seeds have a slimy coating and are starting to smell. The seed tray rests on top of the tub and is easily dislodged. It should have been designed with a means to secure it to the tub.Poor design and way overpriced for what you get. Will not purchase again or recommend.

Liked the idea that it does promote quick growth
Liked the idea that it does promote quick growth... I am still giving a five star rating even though it would have been ok if the bottom part is not that deep... Just thinking about the amount of water wasted from changing it everyday as required.

Didn’t work for me, but a quality (well made, sturdy) product...
This product never gave me good results but that could be that I did something wrong or Florida just isn’t great for trying to grow sprouts. Excellent quality and very sturdy. I finally just gave up... by a day or two the sprouts and seeds were just mushy even thought I followed the instructions and I was grateful for instructions as so many products don’t come with any instructions.

Great for micro seeds
This sprout tee has lots of room for roots. In my picture I’m growing red amaranth sprouts. I put this vitahiro next to my other sprouter for size comparison. They are on their 4th day and looking good. Price wise, I would say this is worth it for just $10 vs quality of the tray. Well designed and made. It’s my first time using this and it’s successful.

Nice size, I got this to grow cat grass ...
Nice size, I got this to grow cat grass using wheat berries and it did a good job of that. However when I presented the sprouter to my cat he uprooted the grass so I just cut the grass with scissors which is how this is designed to be used after all.

Not as pictured. Tried twice. Too late to return.
Followed directions twice, and still ended up with slimy, smelly sprouts. What is pictured does not happen. I have a pretty decent green thumb. These “pots” lack adequate ventilation to support healthy growth.

Not worth it at ll.
Yes, the item is indeed 5.5 x 4.5 x 2.5 inches, but I guess I didn't read that properly, so I received a $10.99 plastic mini toy. The bottom is transparent, the top tray fits fine, but I had to wrap it in a napkin to keep out the light, so the purpose of this item was lost. In other words, the bottom should be black and there should be an extra black cover to shelter the microgreens until photosynthesis is desired. It was, however, a good DIY incentive, so I'll stick with my old growing methods using stray containers. On further review, the unit fostered mold despite water change twice daily.

Bad deal
Totally waste of money. So small it is worthless. Do not buy.
