great vest but difficult removal
The mixed blessing of having no zipper is something to consider: this vest fits snugly and is warm and comfy, and has no bulky or bumpy zipper to deal with. But it is very difficult to remove this vest without help or without fear of tearing the neoprene or your rotator cuff! You look cool while wearing it but not cool while trying to get it off.

Perfect insulator for Steelhead Fishing.
Excellent value, construction. Keeps core warm in extreme conditions. (Ambient air temperature 10 degrees water temperature 38-42 degrees.). Wear hooded jacket overtop of product and then a hooded wading jacket. Lightweight pair of waders for cold water flyfishing, I am 6 foot tall and weigh 190 lbs. I bought size XXL fits perfectly. (Snug, but not restrictive for casting.) a little hard to get on/off. I wear capilene t-shirt underneath.

well built guaranteed to keep you buff and warm
Really surprised how much I like this vest.....it took a while to get a system down taking it off and putting it on without looking like a psych ward escapee! Almost called 911 first time i tried to take it off but couldn't even reach my phone. I am 5'11, 180 and Large fits perfectly...I longboard in Hawaii and stay in the water for 3-5 hours...I opted for a no Zip vest just to wear under a shirt for dawn patrol and windy days...this one is garansbobarans!

Fits as chart states
Not sure why most of these reviews tell you to size up at least one size. 5 10, 180 lbs, 33 waist, 42 chest; ordered a large as chart suggests. Fits like a literal glove. Y'all realize a surf vest should fit tight, right?!

Extra warmth for those overcast days
Recent surf session for me had me in a 3:2 wetsuit, which was working great on mild sprng days with the sun shining. Unfortunately, when the sun goes away and the winds pick up a bit, I found my 3:2 wetsuit lacking, and I'd sometimes get cold. I wanted a vest like this anyways for surfing in moderately warmer claimtes, as I find rash guards barely do the trick for myself in regards to rash protection. So I picked it up for myself.A recent surf session had this vest prove it's worth. The day was a brisk 55 degrees and very overcast, with a mild breeze. I pulled the vest on on, and then donned my 3:2 wetsuit over it. I went out to surf, and I quickly settled into just a very comfortable temperature. The only thing that ended my surf session was hunger, which is just how I like my surf sessions!

sized incorrectly

Order at least one size larger than chart shows.
I returned this vest because it was too small. I am 5' 6" and 131 pounds, well within the "Small" category on the size chart. I had planned on getting a medium, the same size as the vest that I am replacing this one with, but I balked and went by the chart. Even the medium is pretty tight, but you do not want it loose as that defeats the ability of the vest to keep you warm. I bought this for the fall surf so I have not used it yet but I've had many O'Neill's in the past and I trust this one will be of good quality. The material is very supple and flexible so it should be easy to move in and comfortable. I will come back and update if I find it to be otherwise.
