The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After: Includes Violet's Story (Bridgertons, 9)

Definitely redundant if you've read the series!
I returned this book after I saw the first entry - I have read all the books in the Bridgerton series, loved them all, but this book was just a repeat of the final stories in each of these books, with a short story about Violet at the end. I was quite disappointed, since I was expecting more from this author. Bottom line: if you have read the series, don't bother with this book!

Wish I'd read the reviews...
Having read all the other books in the series, I was disappointed to learn - after buying this book - that it was a repeat collection of the 'second epilogue' sections in the earlier books.Thank goodness Amazon was willing to allow me to return the book for a full refund.

5 Stars
Love all the epilogues and LOVE Violet In Bloom! Such a sweet novella devoted to the mother of the Bridgertons. My only complaint is that I wish there had of been a little bit more in the end of Lucy and Gregory's 2nd epilogue. She's really ill, and obviously going to recover, but it is not written that this happened. I wish it had of been confirmed in a more happy way.

Redundant
If you purchased the other books in the Bridgerton's series than you already have all but one chapter of this book. It is a combination of all the second epilogues that are included in her novels.Still a very good read. Just wasn't worth it to me when I'd already read almost the entire book.

Wonderful!!
Loved having all the Bridgerton family come to life again..super terrific in fact. I love Julia Quinn's books. Such fun to read what happened later. Makes me want to have all of the series stacked up beside me, to read and savor again! Seems like there is a whole lot more to be written about each, on to Violets grandchildren maybe the great grands too!

Finally got the new cover in paperback!
The trade paperback (new cover) was released on 7/6. I ordered it from Amazon on July 8th and got the old edition (even though the picture on Amazon was of the new) and returned it. Ordered from B&N a few days later, got the old edition, returned it. I was determined to keep ordering and returning until I got the new one. Tried again from Amazon on July 21st and, whaddya know, I finally got the new one!!! I was so excited when I pulled it out of the package, I squealed a bit 🤣Now, I haven’t read it yet (planning to this weekend, just finishing Gregory’s story first, but writing this review now for others that may be looking for the new cover), but I gave it 5 stars because I just know it’ll be good. If it turns out to be terrible (very unlikely IMO) then I shall come back and update.I skipped the second epilogues for all but the first book. I read Daphne’s second epilogue and found spoilers that bummed me out (however predictable they may have been, I didn’t want to read them like that) so I skipped the rest of the second epilogues as I read through the remaining books. I’m extremely eager to read this book so I can find out what happened to them all 🙌🏻. I know each book has their respective second epilogue, but I love the idea of having them as one book. As an added bonus, there’s a novella about Violet!

A lovely resolution to the series, IF you skipped the 2nd epilogues!
Perfection! After the first two books I realized that the second epilogues were added later on and compiled in this collection, and so I refrained from reading them in 3-8, and it was so worth it to read them with all the love stories rattling around in my brain. These little epilogues gave Julia Quinn the chance to answer lingering questions the readers had, but more to the point, it gave her opportunities for more comedic, laugh-out-loud shenanigans that didn’t have a natural place at the end of the core books. I loved seeing the children grown up a bit and causing their own trouble, and the bittersweet Violet and Edmund prequel. Such a good series, and I’m so glad I bought paperbacks instead of checking them out from the library — I’m sure these will become a comforting re-read for me.

2nd epilogues for all the Bridgerton couples!
This collection was the most perfect ending to the series and I’m so glad I waited to read it at the end! If you haven’t read the Bridgerton books then definitely don’t read the 2nd epilogues because it’ll spoil things for you with the series. It had all the siblings & Mama Violet and just the best of each of their books revisited in a new way.The Duke and I - 20 years later, Daphne is now 41 & finds out she is expecting their 5th child, which is a surprise as their youngest child is already 16-years-old. Colin & Penelope show up to chat with Simon because their son is 3-years-old & not speaking yet. Simon decides to open his late father’s letters which reveal & help with nothing. The Viscount Who Loved Me - every year Anthony & Kate have a rematch of their epic Pall Mall game (that took place in book 2) with all the original players present (Colin, Daphne, Simon, Edwina). Their competitiveness has only heightened in the 15 years & it was such a fun time!An Offer From a Gentleman - Sophie & Benedict play matchmaker for her stepsister Posy & set her up their new neighbor, the vicar.Romancing Mr. Bridgerton - takes place after Colin & his brothers show up at Sir Phillip’s house to find out where Eloise ran off to in book 5. Colin & Penelope return for Eloise’s wedding, where Penelope & Eloise both confess to secrets they held from one another. Sweet BFF time.To Sir Phillip, With Love - follows Phillip & stepmom Eloise’s daughter Amanda, who is all grown up & finding her own love match. This one is told in first person! When He Was Wicked - Francesca & Michael have been married for 3 years and the question of if Francesca is able to become a mother like she so desperately wished in her book is finally answered. It’s in His Kiss - Hyacinth & Gareth’s daughter Isabella found the jewelry they’d been searching for at the end of their book, now this epilogue starts up 9 years later (when Isabella is 19 and Hyacinth & Gregory have been married for 22 years). And Hyacinth finally finds the jewelry she’s been searching for.On the Way to the Wedding - picks up right where we left off in the book’s epilogue when Lucy gives birth to twins, bringing her and Gregory’s children total to 9.Violet in Bloom - Violet & Edmund’s through the years was the sweetest, hardest thing to read. Knowing where the story would go I was sobbing reading their bittersweet love story but I loved every minute of it too. Violet is just the best book-Mama ever.

Lovely
A lovely end to a riveting series!I picked up this book of second epilogues, though many copies of the books I had already downloaded had them within. When you become invested in a series, it's easy to be left feeling a little empty. You want to know what happens after the 'Happily Ever After'.These second epilogues all follow the stories of each sibling. Some a few years later, some more, some less, but they tie up the stories even more firmly than the original epilogues. And the addition of a short novella focussing on Violet, the matriarch of the family was a lovely surprise too!My #Bridgertonuary is complete, though I have now realised that there are a few other books I could read, The Rokesby collection, which is a series of 4 books that are set pre this particular Bridgerton clan, and work as prequels. They may just be another set I have to read!

Happily ever after
Loved the way it ties up all the stories. These romances are clever, funny (especially the men who seem to be outfoxed by the women most of the time but have some brilliant one-liners that make you laugh out loud) - I still can’t decide who I like best but I think Simon and Anthony are at the top of the list, one because he’s just so adorable and funny and the other because he tries so hard but his wife always gets him in the end - which he does seem to enjoy rather a lot!

Brilliant way to finish the set....
This was a great way to finish the stories of the whole family! My only thing and it’s more of an annoyance is that, in the versions of the previous 8 books they had already added the second epilogues so there was only one chapter and violets story that I hadn’t read in the last month! Something to note! The series overall is great. I half expected to be reading a similar story as the first for each sibling and was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case. Would recommend.

It was good
To be honest, I was seriously looking forward to reading these second epilogues and having a chance to delve into the Bridgerton's lives again. Once I started reading through, I realized that it wasn't what I had hoped it would be. For one thing, it had been a long time since I read the series that it took time to get back into the swing of things.I enjoyed reading about supporting characters and seeing their happy endings, however I was hoping for more of the 8 siblings and less of the supporting characters. I know it's difficult to write a second epilogue, and Julia Quinn did a decent job, although sometimes it seemed random, it was still decent. The one thing I really didn't want to read about was Violet's story. She has been such a great character in every single one of the series. An amazing mother, a beautiful, elegant lady and a wonderful role model to all, that it was a bit strange for me to see her as the young girl she was when she met their father and fell for him. I definitely did not want to read about her sexual escapades with him either, having been that fictional mother figure to all. I was saddened at how he died, but I felt if Quinn was going to tell her story, she deserved a full-length novel, rather than a shortened, rushed version of it.It was sweet to read about the Bridgertons again, but not what I had hoped it would be. I admit to feeling slight disappointment.

Perfect!
A lovely end to a lovely series! I’d read most of the 2nd epilogues in the books but a couple were not included. Loved the Violet story xx
