Q: Does dylon stains washing the washing machine?

No stains at all. Very easy to use. Must be 100 percent natural fiber.

Q: Do you need to add salt or vinegar?

The pods contain salt in them with the dye. No need to add salt or vinegar.

Q: how much fabric can you dye with one dye pod?

I did 2 pair of faded back Levi jeans with one pod and the result was spectacular. It restored the jeans to their original jet black color. The directions suggest 2 pair of jeans per pod which should give you an approximate idea of how much fabric one pod will do. They say a pod will completely do a king size set of sheets
