I have owned this now for a few weeks, and based on my challenges trying to find the perfect "hidden" safe, I am hoping to provide some info for those who are doing the same.My first challenge was to determine the exact dimensions. This safe is deep. It will not fit flush into a standard wall, but it is wall-mountable if you have a deep wall (14" or more). The exact width is 15 15/16", the height is 12", and the depth is 14".Next, I wanted a nice keypad. This keypad works very well, easy to access and see. The numbers are large and easy to read and the keypad is angled up for better ergonomics. The keypad also provides a battery status. I have this in a closet, but the closet has a light in it, so I am not concerned about an illuminated keypad.My only "ding" is this: you don't set a combination on this; instead, you simply open it with the same combination you closed it with. It would be great if you could simply press the "lock" button and have it lock with the same combination previously used. This is not a show-stopper, however, and only a problem if you open and close this frequently or if you enter a combination different that you thought the last time you closed it. Keep the manual open keys somewhere hidden but accessible if you are prone to doing something like this. My suggestion is to simply look at the display as you enter the combination to be sure.Mounting this was very easy. I used the 3 holes on the bottom. I did not use the hardware that came with it, however, but instead used 3 7/16" x 3" lag bolts. Worked perfectly, and the safe is secure and firmly mounted to the floor.Lastly, in terms of internal space, this is pretty spacious. My laptop and ipad both fit inside with plenty of room to spare. It also has a shelf to make better use of the entire cubic feet of storage space.Anyway, I would have given this a 4.5 if we could do incremental stars due to the combo process I mentioned above and having to provide my own mounting hardware (Honeywell, I hope you are reading this!), but I think it was closer to 5 stars than 4.Hope this helps!

KEY PAD DOESN'T WORK CONSISTENTLY AFTER 1 WEEK. BASICALLY KEEP THE KEY SOMEWHERE NEAR THE SAFE.UPDATE: AFTER 4 WEEKS EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SAFE PROVES TO BE ANYTHING BUT SAFE. BASICALLY IT CAN BE OPENED WITH TWO LIGHT TUGS AT THE DOOR. NO CODE OR KEYS NEEDED.I REALIZED THIS WHEN THE KEY PAD DIDNT WORK (MEANING YOU DIAL THE NUMBER AND IT DOESN'T APPEAR ON SCREEN AND NO BEEP). THUS THE FULL CODE WASN'T ENTERED. OUT OF FRUSTRATION I PULLED THE DOOR TWO QUICK TIMES AND TO MY SURPRISE IT OPENED.SO NOW I DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THE KEYPAD THAT WORKS INTERMITTENTLY, OR RECOVERING THE VERY LARGE KEYS. I JUST HAVE TO WORRY THAT ANYONE (CHILDREN, UNWANTED INTRUDERS ETC...) CAN OPEN THIS SAFE WITH VERY LITTLE EFFORT. THIS SAFE IS BASICALLY A MARKER FOR WHERE YOUR VALUABLES ARE IN YOUR HOME. YOU ARE BETTER OFF HIDING THEM.IF I COULD GIVE IT A ZERO OR MINUS 5 STARS, I WOULD (FORTUNATELY FOR HONEYWELL THIS IS NOT AN OPTION). I WILL BE USING THE SAFE AS STORAGE FOR PRINTER PAPER AND AS A DISTRACTION TO ANYONE UNAUTHORIZED TO ACCESS.

Have it for a few months now, and it's working good. The material is pretty thick and strong. I see a flaw though. If you forget the passcode you can unlock it with the key. But if you unlock with the key then you will also have to lock it with the key again (the key will be stuck in the keyhole in unlocked position and can only be pulled out in locked position). I don't know how you'd reset the passcode because the only way you reset passcode seems to be by selecting a passcode while locking it (without the key). That means if you forget passcode you can never use it with passcode again? Hope I'm wrong.Customer service is horrible with attitude (the worst I experienced in recent times) and wasn't helpful at all. I almost returned it after talking to them but was lazy to do it and missed the return window.

I previously had one of the smaller Winchester Evault safes, and the lock finally broke.I was looking for a safe that was:- Bigger than the Gunvaults and my old Evault.- Would still fit easily on the shelf in my closet, without being too wide or tall, and can bolt it down.- Wasn't too heavy- Opened after the code was entered, without the need to fumble around and turn the handle under stress.- Has keyed backup.- Large number of combinations.This safe has fit the bill very nicely, I highly recommend it. I currently have 4 handguns in there, mags, some ammo, and room for more.Pros:Fit all of my criteria. Sturdy and strong.Cons:First, none of the below I expected this would have, so not really a ding on the product. Just minor things I changed to improve it for my own needs and may help someone else.- No way to turn off the keypad beep. If you are even somewhat hands-on, you can simply find the mini speaker on the circuit board in the back of the door and cut it off. I did this, no issues, and now it's silent. Probably voids the warranty. I knew how to solder it back if it caused problems, so I wasn't worried about it.- The keypad isn't lit, so I can't see it in the dark. No worries, I added this to the front, which I also have on my larger safe:  Cannon Safe SSL-03-Electronic Lock Security Safe Light , problem solved.- This safe doesn't have a 120V adapter. It's battery only, not battery backup like the Evaults. With that said, my batteries are nearly a year old at this point and the safe is opened at least twice per day. It does have a low battery indicator.- No interior light. Also not a big deal, but something I missed from my old Winchester. So I added one of these  Mr. Beams MB 722 Battery Powered Motion Sensing LED Stick Anywhere Night Light, White . I open the safe door, the light comes on for a minute or so.- The shelf that comes with it isn't padded, so it's kinda noisy. I glued a little piece of carpet to the shelf, so not a problem.- I could stuff more in there if it had two shelves.

Excellent product at a very good price (for the used version - wouldn't pay the full prioce for new). Arrived in very good condition and barely a mark on it. Great Buy

Great strong safe great price

This is the third time I have purchased this item over the past year - the first two worked perfectly and continue to do so. This one has been a pain since it came out of the box - the numerical key pads work once then not the next time so I have to use the over ride key to get inside. Unfortunately I drilled holes in the bottom to attach to steel mounting bars to conceal between my floor joists so can't return it - irritating and disappointing, particularly since I was prepared to pay extra for an item made in the U.S.
