This protective skin fits well on my 2022 13" MacBook Pro M2 with Touch Bar.When using it, I cannot distinguish between a bare keyboard and the keyboard being covered with this skin.The backlighted keys are easily visible. The buttons are just as touch-sensitive as they are without the skin.From previous experience with an older MacBook and another skin from a different manufacturer however I learned to not close the laptop with the skin on the keyboard. The reason was that after a long time I would see a clear imprint of the skin on my screen! And these weren't just smudges from the greasy skin.... these were imprints that were impossible to wipe away! Basically the old skin destroyed my laptop screen.I learned about my previous mistake and I won't let it happen again, so I never close it with the skin on the keyboard. I know this is a huge inconvenience but it is what it is.... luckily I am using the laptop mostly at home and don't need to use it at school or work.So overall a good protective skin!

So I'm wicked bummed right now. Like WICKED bummed. I got this to protect my keyboard... obviously. And I waited to review it because I wanted to leave an honest review. I have the 2020 M1 Macbook Pro (with the special touch pad thingy). And this was great for that function because I wanted a cover that wouldn't cover the touch pad, so A+ for that feature. HOWEVER... it's been a few months now and I started noticing some normal wear and tear. The "E", space bar, "O", and a few other keys that I use most often have started to wear completely off. For one, I could never tell when my keyboard was in caps lock because the black color definitely covers the light on the caps lock key. But that's not important. Eventually, I started to be able to see through those commonly used keys on the cover straight through to the keyboard itself. So I decided to take it off today to clean my keyboard and kind of just readjust everything. Come to find out the dye on the keyboard cover from the keys that were worn through has literally transferred onto my keyboard and I now have black marks on those keys that absolultely will not go away. I scrubbed and scrubbed first with keyboard cleaner, then with a wet wipe, then even with a little soap and water.... nothing has worked. So those keys now feel super funky when I type on them and in certain lighting, it's the ONLY thing I can see. And for someone who just got this laptop and was proud to be able to have something nice for once, this is extremely, extremely disappointing and upsetting. Frankly, I'm pissed off. I got this cover to protect my keyboard and instead, it has completely ruined it in my opinion. Maybe the dye will eventually wear off because I'm not putting the cover back on after finding that it did that, but those keys are oddly sticky and the keyboard makes my laptop look like it's a year old rather than a couple months old. Don't buy this if you value your nice, EXPENSIVE laptop!
