Compact and Quiet Work Duo—Ideal for Essential Office Tasks
**Macally Small Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo****Compact and Quiet Work Duo—Ideal for Essential Office Tasks**I recently purchased the Macally Small Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo as an addition to my home office setup, and it has quickly become an essential tool for my daily work routine. This compact and quiet combo offers a great balance of functionality and portability, making it perfect for those who need a simple yet effective work solution.**What I Liked:**- **Compact and Space-Saving Design**: The first thing that stands out about this combo is its compact design. The keyboard is small and lightweight, making it perfect for those with limited desk space or who need a portable option for working on the go. The mouse is also compact but fits comfortably in hand, providing easy navigation without taking up much room.- **Quiet Typing and Clicking**: Both the keyboard and mouse are designed to be quiet, which is a big plus for anyone who works in a shared space or prefers a quieter work environment. The keys on the keyboard have a soft touch and produce minimal noise, while the mouse clicks are nearly silent. This makes it ideal for late-night work sessions or when you don’t want to disturb others.- **Reliable Wireless Connection**: The 2.4G wireless connection is strong and reliable, with no noticeable lag or dropouts during use. The keyboard and mouse connect quickly to the included USB receiver, and I haven’t experienced any issues with connectivity. The wireless range is also good, allowing me to move around my workspace without losing connection.- **78 Key Layout**: The 78 key layout is straightforward and easy to use, with all the essential keys you need for everyday tasks. Despite its small size, the keyboard still includes function keys and shortcuts that are useful for productivity. It’s a no-frills design that focuses on the essentials, which is exactly what I was looking for in a compact keyboard.- **Simple Setup**: Setting up the combo was a breeze. It’s a plug-and-play system, so there’s no need to install any drivers or software. Just plug the USB receiver into your computer, and the keyboard and mouse are ready to use immediately. This simplicity is great for those who want a hassle-free setup process.- **White Aesthetic**: The white color gives the combo a clean and modern look that fits well with my home office decor. It’s a nice change from the standard black peripherals and adds a touch of style to my workspace.**What I Didn’t Like:**- **Limited Ergonomics**: Due to its compact size, the keyboard doesn’t offer much in terms of ergonomics. The keys are slightly smaller than those on a full-sized keyboard, which might take some getting used to, especially for users with larger hands. The mouse, while comfortable, is also on the smaller side and might not be ideal for extended use if you prefer a more ergonomic design.- **No Backlit Keys**: The keyboard lacks backlit keys, which can make it difficult to use in low-light conditions. While this isn’t a dealbreaker, it’s something to consider if you often work in dim environments. A backlit option would have been a nice addition, especially for late-night work.- **Battery-Powered**: Both the keyboard and mouse are powered by batteries (AA for the keyboard and AAA for the mouse), which means you’ll need to keep spare batteries on hand. While the battery life is decent, it would be more convenient if the combo offered a rechargeable option. However, the batteries are easy to replace, and the devices seem to be fairly power-efficient.- **Basic Features**: This combo is designed for basic use, so it lacks some of the advanced features found in higher-end keyboards and mice, such as programmable keys or customizable buttons. If you need a lot of extra functionality, this might not be the best choice. However, for essential tasks, it works perfectly well.**Bottom Line:**The Macally Small Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo is a solid choice for anyone looking for a compact, quiet, and reliable work setup. It’s perfect for those with limited space or who need a portable option for working on the go. While it lacks advanced features and ergonomic design, it excels in simplicity and ease of use. The quiet operation, easy setup, and modern aesthetic make it a great addition to any home office or workspace. If you’re looking for a basic yet effective keyboard and mouse combo for essential tasks, this one is a great option that I’m happy to have in my setup!

Great deal! Just what I was looking for.
Great! Silent mouse clicks. The keyboard is extremely light and easy to maneuver, small so I can set it aside easily. I use this wireless combo to switch between my Raspberry Pi or my laptop in my home lab. Both devices connecting to a single wireless adapter is great. Oh also the keyboard feels nice to type with, and the mouse is responsive. Great deal. I kind of wish they came with rechargeable AAA batteries, but they do come with batteries.

Almost perfect
I did really like this, but was having trouble with the mouse. The scroll wheel would stick if I was also holding the left side down. Made it difficult to highlight sections continuing down a page. Could just be the one mouse I got.Otherwise, it was so convenient! Easy plug and play. The size is just like a laptop keyboard. Very lightweight. Came with 4 AAAA batteries.

Pay a bit more dough, and realize that less can be more!
I'd been using the "economy" keyboards for a LONG while, and recently had one( a PINK one!) that was bad from the beginning. My sweet wife had been using a MACALLY for several months ( maybe a year?), and she loves it. I didn't want to give up my large keyboard with the numbers on the right side and a wrist rest, but the PINK economy special betrayed me--failed me in less than a month! It took about a week, but the MACALLY RFCOMPACTKEY has won me over! No wrist rest and no right hand number pad, but also no squirrelly keys, no keyboard disappointment; It feels good typing on itOne other unexpected bonus: The wide, fancy keyboards take up a lot of desk space; the MACALLY does not.It ain't pink, but it's still cool!

3 months of use and it’s done
After using for only 3 months, the shift button no longer works. Tried troubleshooting, battery changes etc. No go.Changing my rating die to the fantastic customer service! They reached out and corrected the issue for me.

Love the small keyboard, but I hate the mouse
Love this little keyboard. It's size solves a couple of problems for me. But the mouse that comes with it I can do without. The mouse for some reason keeps going to sleep and I have to jostle it around to get it to come to life again. It is so irritating that I left the keyboard plugged in, but dug out an old mouse from a full size keyboard that I am not using, and am using that mouse instead of the mouse that came with this keyboard. So now am using two usb ports for mouse and keyboard instead of just one, but it is worth it. I also discovered in doing the swap out, that it is not just the fact of the mouse going to sleep that i dislike. I also do not like the feel of the mouse. It's size and shape don't feel as natural as my old mouse. But I do love the keyboard.
