Is the colors printed on the design or can you use permanent markers and use your own colors?

you are meant to attach colored stickers to the design. I don’t see why you couldn’t use permanent marker to color over the plastic design if you wanted to.

Would a 5yr old boy have enough patience for this?

I bought this and two others last year for two 4yr old girls. They loved them! They did have a little adult participation. When my son was 5, he would have loved this. So, if your boy enjoys art, I think so. Hope my answer helps answer your question!

The product description says this is 5" across, but it looks bigger than that in the picture. Anyone know the actual size of the artwork created?

Does it come with window suction hanging hooks?

No. unfortunately it does not. But you can buy them anywhere.Art supply store, hardware store, Walmart,etc. I bought a dozen and grandson and I used them up quickly. We did his bedroom windows first, then to the kitchen, and finished up with living room. Lovely touch, but after a couple of years on the window, the sun diminished the color a bit.
