Big, hefty, and works
Well, we knew the Fluke item would be pricey didn't we? But, as usual, they deliver with the goods. This monster is bigger than the picture would make it seem. The jacks are color coded, so you don't have to look at the little plus and minus signs. Tested it and it works just fine on my 87V.The sides are grooved for a little gription and there is a set of stiffeners that stick up on top and bottom that help too.Good but pricey.

Works well enough...
Not much to say really, does what it's intended to do. Although I wish Fluke would include this with their pipe clamp instead of selling it separately.

Another great tool from Fluke: Thermocouple Adapter.
Like all Fluke products, this is a great adapter to assist technicians by allowing them to simply plug your temperature thermocouple and your other thermocouples types, into your test meters. I found it to be very useful. Would purchase this again if needed.

Fluke quality
Good quality, seats into meter snug. A bit over priced but you pay for Fluke quality.

Smarter purchase than the 80BK-A
This is the way to go. Thermocouples can go bad: the bead can come apart, the wires can break, the insulation wears over time, etc. I bought a dirt-cheap 2-pack of thermocouples for $5.80 and they were within 1 degree of the temp readings from the Fluke 80BK-A probe I already had (tested from 100-200C)This adapter gives you the nice quality connection to your DMM that will probably never wear out and lets you use it with essentially-disposable thermocouples. Love it!

No better than the TestHelper adapter, which costs 3 times less
I ordered this adapter because I thought that it would truly be a "pass-through" adapter. I had previously ordered a TestHelper adapter at 1/3 the cost of this one, but the TestHelper skewed the readings - using it in a Fluke 17B+ to read my Rui Bao (Chinese) Type K long probe thermocouple, the boiling water temperature readout was 94°C. However, using the Fluke adapter, the reading was only 92°C - even more off! Then I compared both adapters using Victor's wire TC: with TestHelper, the reading was 93°C, with Fluke: 96°C - better than TestHelper by 3 degrees. My Victor VC97 DMM has a prong receptacle for thermocouples, so using it, both the Rui Bao (Chinese) Type K long probe thermocouple and Victor's Type K wire thermocouple read 100°C for boiling water. Thus both TC's are okay, but as you can see, both TC adapters are not "pass-through" devices - they both provide only "ballpark values".However, Fluke-supplied Type K TC wire with its own banana plug read 100°C, so the Fluke combination of wire and plug works fine, but the Fluke adapter skews the readings of my TC's as much as the TestHelper. So even though the Fluke adapter costs 3 times as much as the TestHelper, it skews the data about the same - hence, for "ballpark" readings the TestHelper is good enough - the Fluke adapter is certainly no better..I rated this adapter 3 stars, because it provides only "ballpark" values - it is certainly not a real "pass through" adapter.
