My Favorite Battery for Engineering, Video Production, and Emergencies.
Most versatile battery I own. I have powered a Starlink Mini off of this for 1 hour. I have powered a portable TV off of this for 8 hours. It is an invaluable part of my kit and I buy a new one whenever they are on sale. Small enough to put in any bag, but enough power to be extremely useful!

Powers my R5C all day!
I’m really impressed with these batteries (I’ve purchased three of them in total, now). They hold charge very well and the v-mount makes it very easy to attach the battery to a camera using a v-mount bracket/plate. It’s allowed me to conveniently supply my R5C with all day power in a run and gun style package.

Getting another for my personal battery backup! This rocks!
I was amazed at how long this kept my devices powered… I’m planning to get an additional one to keep on hand as a battery backup for my personal devices on camping trips or during power outages. Amazing and more than worth it!!! Wow!🤩

**SEE NEW UPDATE BELOW** Original: Barely used this for 3 months, D-Tap socket pulled out
**UPDATE MAY-31-2023**The same day I posted my original review complaining that the D-Tap socket pulled out, they contacted me directly and even though the old unit technically still functioned (despite being broken), they sent me a whole NEW battery of the exact same type for FREE and even paid for express shipping so that I would have it the next morning. Ive honestly treated this new battery harsher than the original one by far and it has held up fine. I definitely just had a defective unit. If you also have a defective one of any of their products, just reach out to them through here and they will definitely make it right. I have honestly never been the recipient of better customer service in my life. Big Smallrig fan from here on out.-----Original Review (March, 2023): I'm not rough with my camera equipment. If anything I'm too careful with it. I charge everything religiously. This thing barely ever needs charging, after a full day of shooting it has never dropped below 65% and that's from 100%, powering a Sony a7siii, Atomos Ninja V, a Ulanzi LED, and a Tascam DR-701D Audio Recorder all at once the entire time. It's speak, lightweight, the interface is crisp and detailed/informative, and the hardware feels very solid.Until it isn't. I never yanked out any D-Tap cables or jerked thing around, but one day last week just calmly removing a D-Tap (in this case the locking D-Tap for the Atomos Ninja V), the entire female socket inside the Sony 99 just sorta.. slipped out of the body of the battery. Theres no discernable way to open the battery to fix it, and I've repaired plenty of laptops so this type of thing isn't very foreign to me. Just not sure how to go about dealing with this now as the D-Tap was pretty vital to my work flow. I could "make do" but for this price, we aren't supposed to have to.Hopefully I can get a refund or at least have it replaced, but I'm not counting on it. Looks like I'll be going back to Anton Bauer's.

Good for a while, then worse.
How can a piece of equipment be so good, and so bad at the same time?I bought my Smallrig v99 practically days after it came out on the market; always trusting in the quality of Smallrig over all other products, and looking to have a rig on my A7IV that would allow me to use a single battery for long periods of time.At first I was delighted. Both in its form and design, as well as in its performance, they were always 10/10. One day, after about 8 months of use, suddenly my camera started to fail. A failure that only occurred when using the battery. No matter how I connected the camera (D-Tap, USB C, USB A, 8V... the failure continued persistently... and it ruined my work, stopping my recordings and interfering with flickers in the data I was recording.I started consulting with colleagues, who also use the same battery as me (the V99) and ALL OF THEM, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, started to present different issues, similar to mine. Some with charging issues, others with a USB C that no longer worked, and others bricked. I'm talking about approximately 10 people, who bought the battery more or less at the same time.Little by little, I stopped trusting it, and stopped using it as my only "reliable" work tool. Until one day, the worst happened. In full "regular" use of all the equipment, and recording the first dance at a wedding, it simply turned off, and did not turn on again. For a moment I thought it was charging... but; how is that possible? 2 or 3 minutes before I had checked and it said that there was approx. 35% of the battery left. No, it wasn't the charge.I connected it and it didn't do anything. At times, it showed the Smallrig logo on the screen, and it turned off as if it was drained. I was stunned. I connected it to charge via USB, and nothing. Via D-Tap, and it started to show signs of "charging".. and say 30%... but the second after disconnecting it, it came back and turned off.All this is very sad; because of the battery, and because of the brand. I came to Smallrig in the first place, with the hopes of giving it a much more professional look and use. I came looking for high quality equipment, and willing to pay the price to have it, (almost 300 dollars at its starting price) but all that was useless, if in the basic use of the camera, I can't even trust it.disappointed.
