It’s a pricier way of doing this than just using adhesive yourself but with how reliable and low profile it is, I say it’s still less than a replacement drive.

The media could not be loaded. This is incredibly easy to use, and fits great on the back of my 15” MBP. It’s super thin and sleek so I doubt it will get stuck on anything, making storage easy. However, for $20 the plastic rotation piece feels very flimsy and overall cheaply made. I can’t speak for the longevity of this and it says it’s 3M adhesive so we will see how long it holds together.

I like to use my external drive for backing up my files, frequently, and sometimes keep certain files only on that drive. It's always annoying to have something dangling from your laptop that doesn't move around with it, or that is taking up space on your desk next to it. This adapter sticks solidly to the laptop lid and drive and locks in place easily to hold the drive nearby but out of the way. I do recommended lining up the location on the laptop lid before sticking it on, make sure the cable reaches the port you want it to and you can align it so the cable isn't hanging in an annoying way. Once the adapter is on, it's solidly stuck there, so you can't redo it.

I also wanted to find a compact solution to make my laptop portable with all the accessories and hard drives. This hard drive mount works perfectly, is durable, very sturdy and carries the weight of my hard drive. I was kind of concerned that it wouldn't be able to hold the weight of my hard drive, but it can handle it great. The tap adhesive is very strong so you have no worries about it coming off.

Adhesive is terrible it wouldn’t stay stuck to my laptop. I’d recommend getting any other product than this one unless you want to superglue it to your laptop or buy better tape. It seems like it would just fall off after a couple months even if it did stick. I wouldn’t trust this to hold an external hard drive. Definitely not worth the price.

This Is one of those I wish I thought of it first things. For what it is, it works great. Locks in place and I feel totally comfortable trusting it to hold my $200 SSD

I want to protect my investment, a must-have in your camera bag. Similar to the quick-release connector used on hoses.My favorite part is that it locks in when you slide into the receiver and rotate it 45 degrees. My only dislike is that not all surfaces are equal, and the adhesive backing may or may not be strong enough to hold.For example, I have a 13" MBP with a Plastic Hard Shell Case Cover. Initially, the 3m adhesive tape did not hold. After a second cleaning of the placement area, it held in place. So far, so good.The sleeve that slides into the holder's adhesive backing does not hold depending on the surfaces to which it is applied.For example, the rubber surface of a SanDisk portable SSD has a smooth, slick, rubbery texture, and the 3m tape will not hold onto that type of surface.I have the remedy; the well-trusted Velcro strips solved the issues.
