They do what they say they will do and comfortably at that!!
I spent a lot of time reading about different products such as this as I have Topiary shrubs on each side of my front door and I wanted to be able to trim them properly without over trimming them. They arrived right on time and I tried them trimming both shrubs almost immediately. They worked perfectly and so easy to use. I have tired different types of trimmers before and this is truly the BEST!!

BUYER BEWARE
I had already topped off my yard for the season and put my mower away when I ordered this. But, of course, that stupid onion grass popped up, so I decided to test my new clippers. And, they worked well. I played with the pivot feature to reposition the blades from a vertical to horizontal cut. I wasn't paying attention, and turned them in the wrong direction, now they will forever be stuck in the vertical position. There are 3 notches on that mechanism, and they are the 3 positions you can transition the blades into. If I was mechanically inclined, I could probably figure out a way to break this down and fix it, but alas, I'm not. So be careful when changing the direction. That was my bad. The blades are sharp and work well, and the tool is well made.

I love these shears. Work great to trim herbs and cut out dead undergrowth.
I grow quite a few veggies and herbs in my basement. Some of the herbs, such as lemon and winter thyme, Greek, Italian, and Spicy oregano, and marjoram grow very large and need to be occasionally trimmed back to promote new growth and to keep the plants healthy.I have a large hedge trimmer that I use most of the trimming and shaping of the plants, but can't use these to cut out the dead undergrowth of the plants and finish shaping. Growth under the umbrella of the plants usually dies off due to lack of light. If left, the dead leaves and branches can cause fungal problems.Until I found this set of grass shears, I was using old sewing scissors to trim out the dead branches. This set of shears makes the job so much easier and quicker.1) These shears are very sharp and cut through the undergrowth will little effort.2) The angle of the blades can be easily changed making easy and more comfortable to trim undergrowth or to shape the plant.3) I am a 5' 2" 75 year old woman that has no problem using this shears with one hand.4) The stems I cut with these are soft and not woody. I have a different cutter for larger and woody stems.UPDATE 08/15/22:I have a large 10 gallon pot full of garlic chives. If you have ever grown chives, you know that in time the older leaves turn brown. This makes it difficult to use them since you have to pull out the brown leaves from what you plan to use. Every now and then, you have to cut the chives back to about 2 inches from the soil. I used this shears to cut back my garlic chives and it took no time at all. These chives grow so fast, I will have a lot of useable garlic chives to use with 2 weeks. I added a picture of my chives after I cut them back.I hope this review was helpful for you.

Fabulous for hand trimming
I had bought some Fiskars grass trimming shears. They were crap as the would dissassemble if hitting anything tough.. I bought an identical shear to these at a second hand store, made in Taiwan. They were great, until the spring broke. These appear identical to the Taiwan shears.. No plastic parts that are subjected to stress. The only plastic are the grip coverings (for comfort) and the the lock(no stress on it.)
