Gift
I bought this guitar as a gift for my husband, and it was absolutely worth it. The craftsmanship is beautiful, the wood feels high-quality, and the sound is rich and clear. It stays in tune for a long time, and the strings have a great response. Most importantly, it made a dream come true for him, and now it fills our home with music and joy. Highly recommend!

Super unique, affordable, and feature rich smart guitar
I bought the Lava Me Play on 10/3 and it arrived 10/9 in perfect condition. It's a small guitar for sure, somewhere between a parlor and OO size. The HPL body makes for a super light, slightly neck-heavy guitar. There's a usb-c charging port on the bottom of the body (I immediately put a magnetic charging adapter on it to minimize strain on the usb port until I pick up the wireless charging stand). It came with about 58% charge and after roughly 4 hours of playing with all the bells and whistles it was down to 51%, so it seems like it will last quite a while on a full charge. The big selling point of this guitar is obviously all the smart features. If you, like me, watched videos on YouTube of the Lava Me 3 and thought it looked cool, but too pricey for what may turn out to be a gimmick, this guitar has all the Lava Me 3's features with a faster processor and more memory for a smoother interface. For $400, it does a LOT of cool stuff. The built in tuner, drum tracks, looper, and lessons are all top notch. The effects are numerous and range from great to totally gimmicky, but the simple reverb, flange, and phase settings are pretty great. I need to spend more time playing around with settings (I boosted the effects volume in advanced settings by about 25% - any more than that and the feedback the app warns you about starts to become an issue), but I'm confident in saying that the value for money for the Lava Me Play is pretty incredible. Yeah, the HPL feels and sounds cheap when played without effects, but those effects overcome the shortcomings and then some. It's a little bit like saying a strat sounds crappy unplugged - that ain't the way it's meant to be played.All-in-all, I'm super impressed with this fun, kinda weird looking tech demo of a guitar. I've played for over 25 years, have played many different kinds of guitars and can't think of one that's more fun to play than this. If you're a beginner, grab one - it will make learning easier and way more fun (and the super low action makes for happy fingers). If you're a guitar vet and want to play with something fun and different, you can't go wrong with the Lava Me Play.(Also, it connected to my WiFi no problem, not sure what could cause the other reviewer here's WiFi issue, but my guitar thankfully didn't share that problem.)

Amazing and Smart Guitar!!!
The media could not be loaded. So my boyfriend's birthday was right around the corner, and I was on the hunt for something music-related, because he's a total music enthusiast. After some serious Amazon scrolling, I stumbled upon this genius creation – a smart guitar. I mean, who knew guitars could be smart, right? So, the big day finally arrives, and this guitar shows up right on time, all snug and safe in its packaging. The excitement in the room was off the charts as he tore into the wrapping. He couldn't believe his eyes – it was like instant love at first strum! The smart features had him hooked. Tuning the guitar became a breeze, and the companion app? It's like having his own personal music tutor right on his phone. Now, I'm no music expert, but watching him dive headfirst into this new world of musical exploration with a techie twist was priceless. It's not just a guitar; it's a one-way ticket to a whole new universe of musical fun. If you've got a music-loving gadget geek in your life, trust me, this smart guitar is the gift that keeps on giving.

Great electronics package on a very sub-par guitar, regrettably returned
The electronics package is interesting, and I liked it quite a bit. I can see a use for almost every feature in the electronics, and was impressed by how many things they manage to include and make (mostly) easy to use. A tuner and metronome are built in and work well, the learning features are impressive(ear training, scale practice, chord transition practice modes) and while the learning curve for the interface can be a little steep, that is mostly because of the expansive feature set, so I'm not knocking the electronics at all.But the impressive electronics can't make the guitar I received usable. I'm not taking a swipe at the HPL construction, it sounds pretty good for what it is, and does make the guitar sturdier. But.... the eye watering action height is really just too much. The strings on the guitar I received are so high that my string gauge doesn't have a measurement that high. At first I thought, no problem, the neck probably just has too much relief, but no, the neck is completely straight so it's not a question of neck relief. And because of the great electronics, I still would have kept the guitar and shaved the saddle to lower the string height to something that isn't impossible to play a barre chord on without a clamp, but no dice, I would have had to shave the bridge as well, since the by the time enough had been shaved from the saddle, the strings would have been resting on the bridge.Worse is that this is positioned as a "learner's guitar," and I can't imagine any new player not being disillusioned after spending only a little time with this. I may try another Luna at some point(the electronics are amazing,) but I'm definitely going to examine the one I'm buying in person.
