Best Doorbell Camera w/o requiring Subscription
I researched for a long time for a feature rich doorbell camera that give you full access to all the advanced features available in the device without require monthly subscription payment. Most doorbell cameras today advertise impressive feature sets, but require you to pay a monthly subscription fee to unlock features already present in the hardware and software - in other words, these companies put in specific software provisions to block you from accessing features that are already present in the device!Eufy camera is the one most advanced doorbell camera that offers so many advance features, all without any subscription. Below are useful features that make Eufy E340 an outstanding product:- Dual high-res camera; one capturing the visitor and another looking downwards to monitor delivered packages- High resolution images w/ 8GB of video storage; enough to keep multiple weeks of downloadable video w/o any subscription- Good image quality with HDR despite strong late afternoon direct sunlight (see photo)- User friendly mobile app: the same user friendly & intuitive app integrates all Eufy security camera together so you can see and interact with all your cameras in the same app (I have multiple floodlight & security camera all in one app)- The mobile app is capable of tracking all your doorbells and security cameras across multiple physical locations - great if you have multiple residents or office/store locations you want to monitor on the same app- Can either operate in battery mode, or get power from AC if you have a existing wiring a traditional doorbell and door chime- Can respond to doorbell activations automatically with pre-recorded audio message- Has face recognition capability and can alert you or automate response when it sees familiar faces (I have not yet tested this feature)

Eufy Doorbell “at rest” and “activated,” angle mount; Awful Battery Life
TL;DR ... this doorbell is power flexible, uses AI effectively, has an attractive build/design, is easy to set up, and uses two good-quality cameras (in day or night).More useful details...Out of the box, this Eufy Doorbell can be installed to use its built-in battery or can be wired directly to your home. Nice.Installation, mounting, and app set up were all straightforward; took about 10 minutes. The hardest part was deciding where, and how high, to place the doorbell! (Eufy does suggest placement but YMMV.)The box came with everything you need, including a template decal that made placing and drilling a breeze; nice touch. The app is a bit clunky (dated?) but works well. Notifications to my phone have been instant. The doorbell itself has a built-in speaker; the doorbell "ding" is very loud and clear. (Another nice feature is that I will hear the doorbell ding in my AirPods if I'm wearing them.)The doorbell has two cameras, so I clearly see both the surrounding area AND the entire floor around my porch. I really like this feature.Visibility at night is good too.Setting detection zones is not intuitive but not hard to figure out. The doorbell can see VERY far in clear sunlight. Before setting up a zone, the camera flagged me at around 45 feet away.AI recognition is eerily accurate (a good thing) ... doorbell can identify animals, people, and packages. It will let you know if someone arrives, puts down a package, or picks up a package. So far, it has not misidentified anything. I haven't set up facial recognition yet; this will let the doorbell know if the person at the door is known/unknown. (Sounds like fun.)Battery: shows 4 out of 5 bars after 2 1/2 weeks of use; unfortunately, there is no percentage. (DO BETTER Eufy.)After 30 days of use (exactly), got a message from the app that the doorbell shut down due to low battery. BATTERY ONLY LAST 30 DAYS! Settings were left at default. :-(Doorbell works with the original Eufy HomeBase and HomeBase 2. The doorbell also works with Alexa and Google Assistant. I haven't use these features so don't know how well they work, or if a hub is required. No HomeKit support at this time (Again, DO BETTER Eufy!)btw ... you can always set up Homebridge or Hoobs to connect this Eufy doorbell to Apple's HomeKit; requires a bit more technical expertise.

Easy setup, too easily to remove and steal
Purchased this for my parents'. My goal was to alert them to any motion as we had some suspicious people day and night. Setup was a breeze to connect. We added familiar faces which it detects but would like a feature/setting where it doesn’t notify motion for people that live there. However it is nice when viewing past recordings to scan for any strangers. It would also be nice to set a schedule of time when it notifies besides manually snoozing.I like that it works with Alexa, we set up our Amazon Dot to notify us of motion or a doorbell ring. It has good internet connectivity as our router is in the back of the house. One major issue is that the whole doorbell can easily be pulled off by hand from the wedge/mount and stolen. Only the mount is screwed into the house. For those where the doorbell is more exposed and seen or high traffic/crime areas, it may be an issue. Also wired doesn't mean it's fully running off power. Still requires the battery in addition. Our wires were old so we are strictly using battery. It lasts roughly a month before needing to be charged. Major plus is free recording and local recording.
