Q: Can you Shut off the beep sound

The automatic beeping it does on the hour and half-hour? Yes! Go to clock-mode by turning it on (holding the center button for 3 seconds); push the center button 3 times; at that place, push the right button once, and "on" should disappear. That's how you know that it's off.
