The Pictures Don't Do it Justice!
I got the Antique Copper World Map design Zippo, and before I say anything else... I'd like to say the pictures don't do this finely crafted item justice. The beautiful image engraved into the antique copper finish evokes images in my mind of a world gone by... a world of explorers on ships, perhaps an academic studying over some maps in a University a couple hundred years ago by candlelight, or perhaps a captain of a pirate ship from hundreds of years in the past. This lighter would not look out of place in any of these settings, and it awakens the human imagination in those who would appreciate the sort of finely crafted item that might match these settings. The aesthetic appeal of this beautiful lighter is further enhanced by lighting it and enjoying the sight of the lights of that soft yellow flame dancing across the engraved copper surface.I would suggest that this might be an appealing gift for the following types of people:*People in the military*Social studies teachers*Sailors*People who appreciate old-world designs, antiques, things of that nature*People with classRegarding the characteristics of the lighter itself -- it's a Zippo, so of course the quality is top notch, as expected. Makes a satisfying "click" noise when closed. I have kept it at my desk and found I periodically reach for it and flip it open and closed now and then or light it just for the enjoyment of playing with it.I was also delighted to hear it's still made in the USA.Works great with Zippo's butane inserts for those who aren't using it for smoking and want the fuel to last a long time without evaporation. I personally have used and enjoyed it with Zippo's butane double-torch insert.

I Understand Now
This Zippo is cool as hell. The weight, the thickness, the look, the click, the process of refilling and tending... It just feels very raw and tangible and real, yet refined and regal. Beautiful like a little jewel but way more useful than one!I don't smoke or use it for much, but when I offer to light someone else's cigarette, it becomes the immediate object of everyone's focus and a deep fascination for those around. I used to do "White Glove Service" work where I may have needed to cater to a small whim of a high-end client, so I bought this as a way to tend to any need for a flame.Never needed to, but it really almost serves as an extra hidden part of my outfit whenever I go out or have an important meeting.Seriously cool and worth the money, to me.

Very nice lighter. Beautiful design and finish. It looks like something 80 years old from a time gone by.
I'm not a smoker of any sort of tobacco. I'm not a Zippo collector. But I have developed a sort of respect for the artistic aspects of this inexpensive little cultural icon as I shopped for a fire making tool. This deep carved Armor "Regal" model really is beautiful. It looks like something 80 years old from a time gone by. It even feels very nice in the hand.Aside from the looks, I wanted something reliable to start my backpacking stove or a campfire when I'm hiking. What's more reliable than a Zippo? Because I'm on the trail for a week at a time, I also bought a dual torch butane insert to convert this lighter to a fuel that doesn't evaporate and wont leak on my other gear. I figure this may sit in my backpack for a month or two. With the butane, I won't have to worry about fuel disappearing on me. Also, the butane insert shoots a steadier flame a little further which is handy for starting my liquid fuel stove without toasting my hand.I'll play with the Zippo insert and the butane insert to see which one is the better solution for the outdoors. I have to admit, the oil insert makes a much more aesthetically pleasing and more natural looking flame.

They don't make them like they used to
Well what can I say it's a Zippo that lights up every time it looks good I'm not going to lie but the hinge is really loose and does not look sturdy as the older models and you can tell their method of machinery is different they have to bevel corners they don't do flush anymore that kind of looks Goofy and cheap I'm just a collector so I'm not going to put this lighter through some serious abuse I only leave them home and look at them from time to time I will admit they don't make them like they used to and that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Copper Gears Armor Zippo
Crazy about zippos here. You may have seen a review from me before. So far im somewhere around 200 so I consider myself a bit of an expert. Once you start collecting: you can't stop. Anyways, This specific purchase is about the copper coated "gears" armor zippo. Out of the 50 or so armors I've amassed, I had yet to buy a copper coated armor (why? No clue). Well as a zippo addict, it was time for that to change. I decided that this model was a necessity, at least to start with, because...well, look at it! It's an absolutely beautiful lighter. And it has a really good click (some newer models are hit or miss on a loud ping). This piece has passed my test and I'm a snob when it comes to zippos. You will not be disappointed. NOTE - It comes with a stainless steel insert. I had a spare brass insert and thought it would look better with the copper case. It doesn't affect the click in any way. Get one for yourself or as a gift. I promise you its a good one

Everything I hoped it to be
I was a bit worried not purchasing from Zippo direct but my budget didn't allow $100 for a lighter. Still the most expensive lighter I've bought but so well worth it. Gave to my boyfriend for Christmas and he loves it! A Zippo was the only thing he requested and was probably expecting just a regular zippo. He's an above and beyondboyfriend and deserves the same, this Zippo held up to that expectation. Beautiful, gorgeous precision etched design, nice weight and works splendidly. I'm no longer allowed to touch it cause I lose all lighters, that is truth. Paired it with a scratch off world map for our adventures to be had (driving through Ireland was our 1st). Now he can light my fire wherever we end up.
