So is this just an overpriced benedryl? It’s literally the same ingredient

Yes, Benadryl and ZZZQuil are both brand names for the generic medication Diphenhydramine and are both dosed at 25mg. Diphenhydramine is a first generation antihistamine (H1) and has a significant side-effect of sleepiness and drowsiness. Like a ton of other medications, pharmaceutical companies rebrand the exact same medications, but slap the side effect as the main use... how ZZZquil is advertised as a "sleep aid" when it's literally just the side effect of sleepiness from the Diphenhydramine/Benadryl. ZZZquil is still technically an antihistamine - they just don't tell you that on the packaging so the can charge you quadruple the amount for "ZZZQuil" for $20 when you could buy Benadryl or Diphenhydramine (the generic) for $5. Gotta love the pharmaceutical companies.
