We moved into this from a Vitamix, which I loved...but it had the number 7 plastic that was breaking down and no safer option, so we took ours back to Costco. SO, we upgraded to this beast, since it has the stainless pitcher. The entire thing is so well made. We never had the "oil" come out of the blade assembly or any such issue, though someone reported that. Because of my concern for what that customer said, I spun clean water in it a few times for a while to see if any oil droplets entered the water. Not a thing. Clean and drinkable. Thank the Lord :)! I can blend 4 smoothies from frozen fruit (not fresh) at one time, It's an animal! The Vitamix could only do 2 at a time of my kind of smoothies. I do have to stay nearby (recommended) and keep an eye on it so it doesn't take off or anything. Because I blend such a hefty amount with big frozen chunks of fruit, I'm concerned it might rock off it's base or something. It never has, but it says to keep a close eye on it. The only thing I wish was different was the level of noise. Oh my word, it's loud. BUT, I have ear plugs ;). They do sell a sound encasing, which we may invest in once our pocketbook has recovered from the purchase of the thing itself. I've had this for about 2 months now, using it constantly and it's been great. I am so grateful for a powerful blender that I hope will last for a decade and provide clean foods in a pure container! Does a fantastic job with smoothies. I used this same blender in a coffee shop for years and now have purchased one for my home. It is easily programmable for each of the 4 program buttons. I just push the button for which I am using it for (Button # 1 for smoothies, Button # 2 for medium blending, etc.) and it is just that easy. The very strong blades and powerful motor will blend anything!

Very-very well-made. It should have been our first and only blender but we did not know better.

Breaks everything down.. EVERYTHINGG!!!

We have gone thru a couple of Blendtec total blenders. Love the blendtec! However, the display on the first one started to get a little glitchy so I enchanged it. After about 6 mos, the seal on the container went bad on the second one and it started to smoke. Overall, it was a great blender. I have bought 3 of them as gifts for friends and family. Fortunately, Costco's return policy iss great. However, I decided to go with something with a stainless container due to concerns about estrogenic activity in plastics containers (even the BPA free ones like Titan copolyester may have estrogenic activity). So I did some research and we picked the Waring MX1300XTS. So Far we love the Waring Pro. It is definitely "Commercial" strength and looks it. The footprint is bigger than the Blendtec. The stainless jar seems indestructable. It blends faster than the Blendtec as well. I purchased this model because of the programmable buttons. We liked this feature on the blendtec. The buttons are pre-programmed. So far we have only used "frozen drink" (#2), and "smoothie" (#4). It is quieter than the blendtec as well. Overall, we are happy with this Hi-power blender. We use it daily and I think it will last. It's built like a tank. The blender jar seals and blade are replaceable without having to buy a whole new jar as well, if they should fail in the future. And we feel like we are providing a safer beverage to our young children and ourselves.
