Evans Tri-Center Bongo Drum Head Pack, 7 1/4 and 8 5/8 Inch

These fit my Pearl Premiero bongos perfectly! They look good, and sound good. Overall volume is a little louder than the original heads as well

I was having a hard time finding a female bongo head for the cheap bongos I bought to play in Florida. It had to be synthetic because the tuning drives you mad with how the climate impacts it. I received it Saturday at 3pm. I had a show at 7pm so I went through the time consuming process of tuning a head that would normally would be considered oversized. However, it was not from the outer rim of the head size. It would fit the hoop, so immediately started the tuning and de-tuning until I got to the sound I was looking for and went another half turn and let it sit for an hour. De-tuned a full turn from that position and went to setup. It performed very well. It looks weird because Evan’s hembra and Remo macho, but I take sound over looks. Hope it lasts

The Hombra does not fit the large bongo. The small head fit and is excellent.

Hay que tener las manos de Acero o Hierro para que suene el bongo pues se oye bien mientras no suene la orquesta o se toque en un ambiente sin ruido peroooo tan pronto se toca a un volumen alto y sin micrófono o con el micrófono a un volumen bajo pues tienes que tener las manos de Hierro.

Amazon warns that there are a lot of returns on these heads, probably due to fitment. The macho head was 1/8" to 1/4" too big on my 7.25" LP 60th Anniversary bongos. it still "works" and sounds good. The hembra fit the 8.65" perfectly. Feel is fantastic, with a good amount of texture, has a nice tactile feel. Still playing with tuning but these do sound really good with really bright, crisps slaps. This set of bongos are fiberglass and there will always be some ringing but there may be less than with the calfskin heads they are replacing. Bought to take the now, all-synthetic bongos to play outdoors.
