Mistaken identity sexting + Dalek ties + taking chances = love
This was a really fun, well-written, sexy book and I pre-ordered the next in the series (LOL) based on this book (sadly, LOL was a hot mess). IRL has a familiar meet-cute, hot stranger sex with...someone who turns out to be your boss/colleague. But, it was done very well and had a bit of a modern twist with the sexy fun times being via text.Conor is in town to make a deal with Wells on behalf of his doctor mother, who is ill. Conor (thinking it's the cute bartender from his hotel) spends the night sexting with Wells and by the time they meet the next day Wells has figured out Conor's identity but Conor is still in the dark that the hated IRL Wells is the same hot, dominant man he's been sexting with. As the story goes on, Wells struggles with telling Conor who he is or continuing to bond anonymously over texts.Overall, I really enjoyed the book. The sexting scenes, holy hell, they were burning up my kindle. The writing was good (which made LOL even that much more disappointing); the characters were strong and had unique voices; and the pacing of the story was good with a resolution that felt believable. I also enjoyed the set up for the series with the introduction of Oscar, of course, and James - who I hope gets his own book.My two small nitpicks were that I felt like Wells changed a bit too fast based on who he was at the start of the book, and I felt like Conor seemed a bit too wimpy at times for someone who had gone through grad school (and business school in particular).=====================A general note about my reviews in case you're looking for similar books. I work in the mental health field IRL and reading is a way to decompress, so (generally) I will purposely choose books that deal with "lighter" subject matter. I favor books that deal with characters growing and resolving their personal/relationship difficulties and getting their HEA.**What I look for in a book: first and foremost, strong writing and editing (I hate typos!); racially diverse characters and/or secondary characters; stories about self-discovery, overcoming difficult childhoods or other obstacles but not crushing angst; stories and characters that are "realistic enough" (i.e. I doubt half the players on a hockey team are gay IRL, but for the sake of a well-written series, I can roll with it); well-written sex scenes; dual POV in the storytelling.**Themes I generally don't care for: "daddy" relationships (unless done really well); sub/dom stories; insta-love; sci-fi/fantasy; mpreg; shifters; lots of kink; GFY (again, unless done really well); kidnapping or bodyguard stories; crazy/violent/stalker exes; MCs with severe mental health issues, severe trauma, or substance abuse/addiction

Adorable and Swoony
Loved this book! Conor and Wells had such a great story, and the way they got together was clever, swoony, s*xy, and just *chef’s kiss* — highly recommend!

Very good
IRL is a good start to a new series and a new working relationship. I could not tell which author was contributing what parts of this book. That could be good or bad. Well, in this case, it is good.It did take me a little bit to realize that there wouldn't be a notable "Lucy" offering, that it would all flow together so seamlessly, that I couldn't tell where one author ended and the other began. After that, I just sat back and enjoyed it.Wells started out as the quintessential rich man, cold-hearted and only looking for the next dollar or the next business conquest. He quickly morphed into more. I liked the way he wasn't made to be such a bad guy that the reader would hate him before loving him. I enjoyed that moment early on where I said “There you are!” when I saw the man hidden from his world. His aha moment was no less enjoyable when he realized that he could be better, that he already was but just had to let it show.Conor is a sweet, giving, character with a strong love for home and family and I enjoyed his personality tremendously. These characters are interesting, passionate and a beautiful couple. The sexy times are scorching, and the HEA is believable and satisfying. The secondary characters are appealing and are supportive of the storyline. There are many feels in this book, and I enjoyed them all.

Romantic and funny..
IRL has a little bit of everything, love, romance, laughter, sadness, and just enough heat sprinkled in to keep things interesting.Conor is at times awkward but is loyal and loving. Wells is all alpha and needs to be in control of everything. Including his partners during sex. Conor just so happens to be very curious about what it would be like to let someone else take the reins and be in control of his pleasure.Surprisingly, the first sex scene didn't occur until like 65% and usually this would be an issue for me, but the sexual chemistry was so intense between Conor and Wells that it didn't even phase me. But I still wanted more because the 2 scenes I did read were freaking HOT!Though they have some serious ups and downs, like living in different states, some omitted truths, and hesitancy to let their guards down, their love is strong and overcomes all of that in the end.

Yes, Sir!
Conor and Wells' story starts out with a drunken text sent to the wrong number. Conor thinks he is texting the hot bartender from his hotel but he is actually texting Wells, the ruthless business man that he has an important meeting with in the morning. Wells wasn't expecting naughty texts to interrupt his night but it was a welcome distraction so he played along. The texts continued with several pictures being exchanged. It was part of one of those pictures that led Wells to figure out that the texter was none other than Conor. Wells can't let on that he knows it's Conor because that would affect the deal that actually brought them together in the first place. What should be an anonymous way to de-stress turns into something that neither of them expected. This book was sexy, fun, and emotional.

Loved this book!
This series has been on my TBR since this book released and I'm kicking myself for taking so long to read it. Conor and Wells were everything as Conor navigated unfamiliar territory in contract negotiations with cut throat Wells. The texting was so spicy at times and their chemistry was off the charts. I did listen to half the book in audible and Michael Pauley did a fantastic job portraying both men.

Absolutely adorable
The plot is so perfectly developed and all facts are so directly intertwined that they seem like a well oiled machine. It’s hard to believe it was written by two different authors as so perfect the story is presented. The couple is absolutely adorable, they really match and totally complement each other. It’s steamy in correct moments, it’s romantic in many others.Yes, it’s everything a romantic book should be.

Mixing business and complications
This promises to be an exciting new series with plenty of heat, kinky sexy times, laughter, and insane complications! It was fascinating because it wasn't clear why the series was titled After Oscar but when it became clear it puts all sorts of promise but also plenty of pressure. There is love in the air but also heartbreak and a whole series of insanity to come! This book follows Conor and Wells. The two are brought together in two different circumstances; accidental sexting and business negotiations. An unlikely pairing and quite the mystery for the book. Conor has come to New York to sell his mother's bio printer to get the money they need for her medical treatments. But the man he needs to sell it to, Wells, is a business mogul and cold hearted shark. Conor nervously texts a hook up the night before the big meeting and instead shares a sexting encounter with a mysterious man. In the other end Wells receives an unexpected text and ends up having the first satisfying sexual encounter in months. Driven to connect to the mystery texter a hint of a picture shows something that leads to Conor- and brings everything into question. Is Conor playing Well's with these sexual escapades? Or is Well's misleading the unsuspecting and sweet Conor? And how can it all work out with the sale a point of contention between them? This was such a great journey as the online and real life encounters twist between these two men. Conor is a bit bolder in his texts while still being the sweet man he always is, open and trusting to a stranger out there. This breaks down the walls to Wells, who proves to have his own depths. Despite being known as a cold unforgiving businessman there is more to him and the front of icy and relentless has been built up after a major hurt. But even as trust grows between them virtually, things become rocky and confused in real life, and the mixing of the two areas slowly begins leading to disaster. It was a murky situation, born out of confusion mixed with hope, that takes a huge leap to get past. This was such a great read, really books right from the first page. Can't wait to read the upcoming books in this promising new series!

Enjoyable read
This was a fun and humourous read. When Conor texted a risque photo of himself to the number he was sure belonged to the bartender he'd just been flirting with in the hotel bar, it never occurred to him that he'd gotten the wrong number. It wasn't until the next morning when he looked at one of the return photos and realised the corporate rather than casual setting in the background. So who was this mysterious stranger that continued their 'chats' and continued to push Conor to the next level? Again, certainly never occurred to Conor that it could be the head of the multinational corporation that he was meeting with the next day in order to broker a deal for the patents to his mother's invention, hopefully resulting in enough profit for her to be able to undergo expensive treatments for the debilitating illness she'd been diagnosed with.Wells needs control - thrives on it. He has no idea why he texted back to the random pic he received, only that it leaves him craving more - a feeling he isn't used to having. Never would he have thought that the hint he'd picked up in one photo would lead him to identify his mystery texter as the man sitting across the boardroom from him on this very important deal for his company. He suddenly finds himself changing his game plan- something he's never done before, because there us something drawing him to Conor that he's never felt before, and suddenly the deal isn't the most important aspect of this negotiation. The story was interesting and flowed well. It definitely falls into the insta-love category given how little they really knew of each other before they were declaring love and feeling desperately heartbroken, but it was still fun watching them interact and seeing all that they had in common.I liked how Wells made an attempt to get to know Conor and how he tried to win him back. His assistant Deb and sister Win were integral in his wake up call, and I wish we'd seen more of them rather than just the occasional mention or conversation. Conor had James as his main friend, but I didn't feel I got to know James well at all, despite him playing a part in the negotiations and some of the cheeky antics toward the end. The focus seemed to be on Conor and Wells, as it should be in a romance, but I do like it more when there is more depth to the secondary characters. The epilogue was sweet and I was happy to see how Conor's mum was doing too. Looking forward to more in this series, but hopefully still get to see bits of Conor and Wells in those novels too.

Love finds a way.
This is a well rounded story of two men, Connor and Wells, finding their HEA. Connor is such a wonderful character, an open book, full of joy, innocence, and kindness to everyone he meets. His awkwardness and uncertainty at times, only endears himself to the reader more. In contrast, Wells' character is about power and profit, a closed book, a man on a mission to succeed. He spends his life shut off from any real emotion and denies himself any form of romantic love. He treats everything as another business deal, he is married to his job and has forgotten to balance his life with joy. Along comes Connor and Wells is a goner. Smitten with Connor in all ways, Wells comes to realization how empty his life has become and decides to make a change. Things get worse before they get better, but in the end both characters find happiness together and a deep love. The Authors have done an amazing job of creating such depth to their characters and making such a beautifully woven story. It was a pleasure to read this book, it's written very well, it flowed and is editted very well so that the reader can actually read instead of trying to decipher the words all the time. The story itself is beautiful and I look forward to reading more. I am looking forward to seeing if James gets a story, as he did not seem happy with his current relationship in this book. 5 stars
