I don't recall it coming in a particular box. I ordered three of them and they were in separate packages within the same box.

i dont think its brass. dont know if it can be polished, works fine

I placed a small o-ring directly where the cap comes to rest, & since then it posts quite well. Before doing that, posting was the most annoying thing about the pen.
