Q: how big is the lcd screen

The screen is 4"x4"...This really nice unit. I have several Lacrosse units and they work just fine... I would recommend.

Q: Can you hang this on the wall?

This will not hang on the wall but it is built on a small stand that you could easily put on a very small shelf. I look at it several times a day and have found it to be very accurate and easy to read. good luck.

Q: Is the display highlighted and easily visible at night time?

Only when the batteries are quite new the display is easily visible at night time.

Q: can the signal from remote go through glass?

The signal from the sensor passes through walls (and glass). Our sensor is outside and the unit with the screen is inside 25 feet and several walls and windows away from it. Not sure if this is what you are asking.
