Best headlamp out there!
This lamp is very bright when on high. Charge doesn’t last terribly long if you leave it there. Still brighter than most on the next lower brightness where it lasts much longer. The red function is great if you want to save your night vision. I have a half dozen other brands…I always use this one. Even bought an extra!

Dim
I really like all of the functions. Red light and no-hands motion detection on/off are my favorites. It holds a charge well. Not too heavy. BUT, it is not nearly as bright as another brand my husband uses. Would I recommend ? Not enthusiastically.

Interchangeable lithium or AAA batteries
16 April 2020 Update:Tonight the hinges broke completely off when I opened the light to exchange the batteries. Half the closure had already broken off a few months ago. When the lamp was new it was great, but over time it came to really bother me that there was no diminishing in output to alert me that it needs new batteries. No, it just quits, no warning whatsoever. And when I am outside in pitch black this really stinks. I will be looking for other headlamps with the red light that fade out to prevent this because I cannot afford to stumble or fall after massive spine surgery. Also, this thing devours batteries, and the rechargeable battery has long become almost useless as it hardly holds a charge anymore.Original review:Love three power levels and red light option. Can use AAA batteries or the rechargeable lithium battery, great idea. Sits well on forehead, but the headband could have a tighter adjustment clip. On high power this is very bright.

Bright light - easy to charge
I got this so that I will have something brighter to have when cross country skiing early in the AM and at night. I used it last night for the first time and it is terrific. I may look to see if I can find an equally bright, but more focused beam.

lasts only 10ish minutes on high
very bright on high beam, but it lasts only a 10ish minutes on high, no matter what battery (included or AAA) you use. Then it shuts off. Also, when you turn it on, it always turns on to high beam (it does not remember your last setting), which is annoying.

Good value for a rechargeable headlamp
EDIT August 2019After a few months of use, the switch is starting to fail. It requires several pushes to turn the light on and then several pushes for each change in mode. I can no longer recommend this headlight and removing a starORIGINAL REVIEWPROS:Clean, bright light and very good run time at the brightest setting (over 2 hours). Medium setting is totally sufficient for 95% of usage scenarios, and lasts about 5 hours on the rechargeable battery.Adjustable beam goes from point spot to broad flood without distortionEasily replace with 3x AAA batteries if the rechargeable pack dies and you can't rechargeCONSButton to turn on is difficult to find while wearing the headlamp - impossible if you have gloves onFocus ring is a bit difficult to manipulate, especially if wearing glovesNot having a separate button for the red light makes the red light completely useless, and this oversight surprises me. The whole idea of a red light is to preserve night vision, but you have to click through three levels of brightness before you get to the red light. Dumb! For this reason, I will never use the red lamp on this headlamp.Overall, this is a good value for a rechargeable headlamp and is very bright on the brightest setting. I really like the ability to easily change the beam spread, and the light is very clear with no "hot spots" in the lighting. The general construction is similar to something from Energizer or other non "name brand" headlamps. It is slightly inferior in materials and fit & finish as compared to offerings from PrincetonTec or Petzl, Nightcore, but is about 25% to 50% less for similar specs.

Color not as expected
Was expecting blue and white, but it is black and orange. Color wasn't given and was not described.
