Tried 1.75 and 2.5–higher pressure wins
Easy to install… I had ordered the 2.5 and decided to try the 1.75 as well just to see if performance was comparable to save water. While the rain shower element is very good, my favorite setting, the “Kotton” spray, is just too weak on the 1.75. On the 2.5 this setting is so functional and soothing, I usually start with the rain, then switch to Kotton for washing and rinsing, and it provides a wide and thorough sweep across the back and works well to rinse soap and conditioner. It was just too weak on the 1.75 model to have much function. If you are in an area that must use lower pressure, I recommend a unit with more settings like a focused spray otherwise it will take too long to efficiently rinse off. The “Komfort” massage setting is not super impressive. It’s like a messier version of the Kotton spray. And the mist function is kinda neat but seems pointless. Maybe better in a walk in shower where you can sit on a stool and be misted. Our recently purchased home has vintage bathrooms with small tubs, and the shower head gives me a real spa experience that somewhat makes up for the tiny shallow tubs that we can’t afford to replace right now. As a massage therapist I absolutely need SOMETHING to comfort my hard working shoulders throughout the week and the Flipside fits the bill, while also having a stylish minimalist aesthetic. Highly recommend the 2.5 model.

Simple and pleasing
Four settings, doesn’t complicate your life with more. Flip through them, no buttons. Good water pressure. I love this shower head and this is the third time I’ve bought it (no QC issues, just needed more than one).Highly recommended.

Great Looking, Gimmicky, Not a Massage
I had my shower completely replaced. The contractor wanted me to order my own fixtures, so after a lot of reading of reviews I settled on the Flipside. I don't know what he had to do to install it, though I know he needed to go get the piping to attach it to the wall.I was really looking forward to variable spray settings after 20 years with a builder grade non-adjustable shower head. Sadly, I find that I am just leaving it on the soft spray setting. What wasn't apparent from any of the reviews is exactly how it works:The central disk rotates around the X axis only. There are hole patterns on each side of the disk, and slots on each edge. You press on the disk to rotate it. It is stiff enough that you need both hands to accomplish this, which means standing facing the spray. As the disk rotates, so does the angle of the spray, though it does cut off through most of the arc. "Most" is a key word here. There is a part of the rotation where the water is still splooshing out. If you have a shower caddy on the shower head, items on it will get drenched. Your face will get sprayed. As someone who absolutely hates getting splashed in the eyes, this is distressing. The stiffness of the rotation is good in and of itself. You wouldn't want this thing flopping down and cutting off the flow of water. But it causes the above problems, plus you are likely to jiggle the overall position of the shower head as you grip the outer ring for leverage to turn the disk. And then we get to what happens on the various settings. Fine spray (Disk Side 1): Very nice but very gentle. Lots of volume, good clean edges, I can rinse my cheek without getting spray in my eye. It is sufficient to rinse out shampoo and conditioner. It's soothing, not invigorating. Thick spray (Disk Side 2): Arrgh! Big blobby middle with a halo of spray that hits my eyes, ears, mouth, just goes all over, without giving any better impact than the fine spray. Edges: I have only tried them a couple of times and hated them so I can't describe them well, but essentially one throws out a flat fan of water and the other (I think -- I lost track of which edge I was turning to) does a thinner stream. I tried using those for shampoo rinsing but found them ineffective and they left most of my body out of the spray, to chilling effect.Fortunately the fine spray setting is good enough. I wish I could get a needle spray and a massage pulse, but the soft wide spray of hot water relaxes me after I'm in long enough. And the shower head is by far the prettiest, most unusual one I found. It fits in very well with the soft curved chrome look of the other new fixtures. So I won't need to try to replace it for a long while.

Sheer Luxury @ Home
Let me preface this review by stating that I am writing it with the intent of helping the person who has read many showerhead reviews and is still on the fence.I am no stranger to residential showerheads. I have previously owned Delta, Standard, Speakman, and Giessdorf. In my current home, I have Grohe and Moen. What I prize in a showerhead is above average water flow and a water experience. "Above average water flow" means sufficient flow to thoroughly rinse away lathered body wash. A "water experience" means that you and your skin are rejuvenated after the shower. The Giessdorf, Grohe, Speakman, and Moen typically provided above average water flow after I removed the flow restrictor. My basis for the "water experience" was when I had the great fortune to stay at a six-star hotel; what an awesome shower they had. None of the showerheads that I previously purchased came close to that experience. That all changed with the K-15996-CP. I googled the Kohler brand because that was the first showerhead that I found by them. There were more negative reviews than positive, but I was really intrigued by the design. I decided to take the plunge.Kohler packaged the head in a cardboard box, not the standard plastic encasement. When I removed the head, it did not feel as heavy as I anticipated. It is not quite heavy enough to be all metal, but not light enough to be cheap plastic. I am sure that there is plastic, but it is not the lower-end, thin-walled plastic. Installation was easy. Yes, I know that it is very easy to install a showerhead. What I mean is that I was unsure if I were going to keep the showerhead so I did not use new piping tape from when I removed the Moen showerhead. I expected a small leak that I would remove when I applied new piping tape if I decided to keep the showerhead. Much to my surprise, there was absolutely no leakage at the junction. In comparison, I had to two remove the Moen showerhead and add more tape when I initially installed it. That is what I mean by easy installation. The second surprise was the water pressure when I turned on the shower. The K-15996 is the FIRST showerhead that I have purchased where I had terrific water pressure without removing the flow restrictor. The water flow and pressure are great! I was very surprised and tremendously pleased. Criteria one was overwhelming met.Next was the actual shower. I do not remember the names for the four functions. The functions are distinct and you switch them by rotating the showerhead on its axis. The rotation is smooth and is easily performed with wet or soapy hands. The wide-angle spray mode is great because covers so much of your body with a constant water flow. This spray pattern is much better than any showerhead that I have had, but I have not previously had a pure rainfall showerhead. The next wide-angle spray mode is what I call rain-splatter and this is the most luxurious mode to me. This mode feels like millions of little rain drops dropping on you as they fall from the leaves of a dense forest. I turn the water hotter and I just enjoy this mode ... it is truly invigorating to me. The next mode comes from one of the slots and it is a thick, relatively speaking, sheet of water ... great for rinsing and the spray pattern has a wide width. The last pattern is from the second slot and it is my second favorite. This pattern is a thin layer of high velocity water that looks painful (like it would cut you in half), but is so soft. When I switch to this mode, I can feel the air moving around me because of the water velocity. The water temperature also cools because of the water velocity. You have to slightly increase the water temperature at the control or the water will feel colder on your skin. I can wholeheartedly say that the water experience criteria was fully met.In summary, this showerhead is a great find for me and I am constantly looking for an excuse to take another shower. An hour or two after my shower, I still feel invigorated. Your mileage may vary, but I absolutely love this showerhead.

'Activation' angle needs improvement, practical once limiter is removed
Experienced this at a hotel in the US and had to have it at home, excellent for shaving. If pressure seems lackluster consider removing the limiter.I had to reinstall a standard shower arm (had a down-facing shower arm for a rain head prior) to get the 'activation' somewhat reasonable, however it still sprays all over the wall and shampoo bottles...

Not worth the money
Was expecting a lot more for the cost. Will be trying a different brand. Not worth the hype or cost.

Excellent
We have been through several shower heads that didn't fit the bill. This one provides excellent pressure, looks nice, and has good different settings. I like the basic shower as it provides really good coverage for a nice, relaxing, warm shower.
