No regrets...
Great Sand Filter Pump! The 18'x42' Coleman pool I have did not have a great filter pump. The pump that came with the pool was too small for keeping 7,000 gallons of water clean and the chemicals balanced. I needed more flow to keep the water circulating. The pump I just installed has a timer, recirculate feature, backwash, rinse and filter. It’s easy to install and I think it’s priced well too. I’ve had a good summer, with less work needed in my pool care. The water flows a lot better, is crystal clear, and it’s easier to keep the chemicals in balance. I haven’t had any issues with water getting stagnant or algae. Also when putting the sand in for the first time, add half the sand and wet in so it settles then fill with the rest of the sand to fill line and wet again, check to see if it's at least at the fill line, if not you'll need to add more.

Must Have
I don’t usually write reviews but felt this warranted one. If you have an above ground pool you need this. This is our third summer with our pool and our first summer with this filter. It was so hard to maintain the pool in the past with the A/C filters that you remove and rinse. It would take a week(s) to make a green pool clean and clear. This sand filter works so well and not only does the water flow faster it is also a more powerful stream. The filter doesn’t take up much space and is very easy to use. We hadn’t swam in the pool all week and I forgot to add a new chlorine tab so it was starting to turn green. I put in chlorine, algaecide and clarifier and the filter had it clear in less than two days. Very impressed with the quality and price. It didn’t cost much more than it would have cost to replace the old tiny filter that came with the pool. I have faith it will last for many years!

Perfect for our 6000 gl
We love this! One of the best purchases to upgrade our pool. Keeps our pool clean and the size it perfect for our 6000 gallon pool size. Does get hot during day but ours is sitting in direct sunlight all day long. We keep it going probably 20 hours a day and it has worked perfect. No problems at all. Filled with sand and has been going since. Has lots of options on it which helps keep water clean. Instructions are super easy and install was quick. Doesn’t disappoint. Just get it. Makes it super easy and powerful.

Powerful, Efficient, and Keeps My Pool Crystal Clear!
This Intex 3,000 GPH pump and filter has been a total upgrade for our above ground pool. It moves a ton of water and keeps the pool sparkling clean with very little effort. We noticed a huge improvement in water clarity within the first day of using it. Setup was easy with clear instructions and all the necessary fittings included. One of my favorite features is the built-in timer setting—it’s super convenient and takes the guesswork out of daily run times. Just set it and forget it! If you’re looking for a reliable and high-performance pump, this one does the job right. Definitely worth the investment!

Awesome and powerful pump for a decent price.I recommend you buy it!
This is a great pump for a great price. I am so happy with this pump. It's one of the best purchases I have ever made from Amazon. This thing is an extremely powerful little awesome pump and filter. No more cleaning paper filters for me. Thank you Intex for making a great product. Now only question is how long will it last. It does come with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty so that's wonderful! If you are wondering if it is a worthy buy, YES,JUST BUY IT. It will definitely save you time and money as it is already saving me money because I have not had to add as many chemicals as I did with the poor little pump that came with my pool as well as not needing to clean my filters daily just to keep my water somewhat decent and moving. I bought this pump to go with my 18' x 48" coleman vista steel above ground pool. It works wonders for my pool and my wallet. So far I have noticed, the pump creates a vortex tornado motion which makes all of the leaves and debris circle to the middle of the pool where I just scoop it up.This pump definitely keeps the water moving which is great for many reasons. One that algae doesnt really get a chance to sit if you are treating your water as needed. Two, distributes and keeps chemicals moving and less likely to settle to the bottom. Three will save money on many extra unnecessary chemicals because it will help keep water balanced and no need to keep cleaning and replacing filter cartridges. I ordered this pump ,which was supposed to take 3 weeks to arrive, it arrived in less than a week of my purchase date. Nice, I know, I am happy with that. Set up was very easy. Much of the parts are already put together. Be cautious as the seal rings are in tact and you dont want to lose them. All you need to do is connect the filter debris basket, pump and sand bucket to the base. Connect the hoses to the pump as directed. I did NOT need to purchase any extra parts or fittings because I connected the hoses to the hoses that came with my pool. You'll also need to connect the adapters to your pool. Make sure that you grease all of your rivets with vaseline or petroleum jelly as recommended by intex. You will need to buy 20 grade silica sand ( it does not come with sand) . Approximately 2.5 ,50 lb bags filled my sand pump to the recommended level, which I picked up for $11 usd at my local pool supply store. And the best part is you dont need to change filters frequently because this sand will filter your pool for 2-5 years. I wouldn't recommend that you use any sand except what is called for. I almost purchased the clorox brand pool filter sand but was steered to follow suit with what intex recommended plus many reviews on the clorox pool filter sand changed my mind. When adding sand make sure that you use the piece to cover the pump hole as you DONT WANT to get sand in your pump. It will help to distribute sand evenly around your sand bucket. First setting up is it is recommended that you rinse and backwash your sand filter pump to get best performance out of your sand filter pump. I've added a skimmer with a filter sock to my pool which also increases my pools ability to stay clean and save me from extra work. The pump comes with 6 settings. RECIRCULATE closes off filter basket and sends same unfiltered water back into pool which I use when adding chemicals to circulate and distribute chemicals evenly around the pool without settling to the bottom I use it for 30 mins to about an hour. This setting is also great for long trips away from home. Then FILTRATION which I use after circulating chemicals around pool to start filtering algae, debris etc. This setting cleans your water. WASTE- exactly what is. It sends out dirty water that you dont want back in your pool or filter. RINSE,almost exact same as waste ,rinses your sand.BACKWASH, also pretty much the same as waste. Sends junk and dirty water out of your pool. CLOSED, closes off all water flow to pool and pump. I would recommend this pump . It does its job and soo far I am very pleased. I havent had leaks , as I believe if you follow directions as instructed you will not have any issues. The price is well worth the purchase. Saves money, time, work, chemicals and it works as well as those high priced filter pumps. If this pump lasts only a couple years it still is worth the money it will save you ,and has saved me in only a few weeks. It does what it says it does and that includes all the time I was spending trying to balance and clean my pool l. I am happy , and i hope that this review helps you and gives you the answers you are looking for.

Just outside of return window and plug malfunctions
The pump itself is great except a recent rain compromised the “waterproof” GFI. Took a bit to not have a heart attack thinking the whole pump was messed up. Once thoroughly inspected we could see water in the little window on plug. Once we took plug apart, we could see where half the rubber gasket sealing the plug was not installed. Perhaps an oversight at the factory. I supplemented another plug I had on hand as I wait to hear back from company on sending me a replacement GFI plug. It’s under warranty so we will see what they do. Otherwise, it works like a champ! Really cycles the water efficiently. We are on well water and this pump helped me get the water into shape fast! I would highly recommend!

Pump worked but Intex Customer Service is awful
On April 12,2023, I purchased an Intex 16.5ft x 9ft x 48in Rectangular Pool Set. Separately I purchased an Intex sand filter (Intex SX2100 Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump for Above Ground Pools: 2100 GPH Pump Flow Rate) all was great until Spring 2025. The Intex pool and accessories I purchased coupled with the customer service provided when these accessories did not work as advertised was absolutely terrible. It began with ordering a replacement cover for the pool, the replacement cover has holes in it unlike the original which does not. I also ordered a hose that connects to the outlet ports via a Dual Split Hose Plunger Valve Pool because the original hoses crack easily and green algae was forming due to the heat. The hose sent to me however was a pool filter hose; useless! Due to the holes in the replacement cover, resulted in bugs and debris falling into the pool. So. I purchased an Intex 28007E Above Ground Swimming Pool Automatic Vacuum Cleaner. I hooked it up per instructions and it worked great the first time. The next time I connected it, the suction stopped. I called customer service and was instructed to connect it to (one at a time) the other two outlet ports. The same result, on the second port; when I connected the vacuum hose, the suction stopped. Connecting it to the outlet port that the sand filter was connected to doesn't work because the filter causes the suction and if the filter doesn't run, of course the vacuum doesn't work. I re-read the vacuum manual and watched you tubes videos, trying to figure it out sand before calling customer service again. No resolution, finally a claim was submitted because the CSR said the vacuum was faulty. When the replacement arrived, the entire bottom wasn't there so that was useless. I called customer service again and was told per the warranty on the vacuum that is how it comes. That's ridiculous because without the under part, it will not work. So I was instructed to take pictures with the vacuum hooked up and inside the pool and another claim would be submitted (it wasn't made clear what the claim was for) after about 2-3 days, I received an email that my claim was denied. Each attempt to communicate with customer service over the phone or chat resulted in frustration because customer service clearly don't know how or understand how the accessories are suppose to work. So, I made the costly decision to get rid of the pool and all its parts and accessories because customer service lacks the knowledge to troubleshoot issues with its products and honoring the warranty of said products do that they can operate as designed. I will never purchase any Intex products ever again!!
