I am very satisfied with the look and quality of this messenger bag. The leather looks good (no visible flaws), the brass hardware seems adequate, and the interior lining is actually nicer than I expected.BUT....I have one BIG gripe: the shoulder strap is NOT as pictured in the listing. You see the pad that's pictured on the shoulder strap? Well, my bag didn't come with that shoulder pad!!! That missing pad not only changes the look of the strap (it looks less masculine, IMO--more like a purse strap), but also changes it's functionality. The pad helps cover the strap buckle (to prevent damage to clothing), helps disperse the weight of the load (i.e. less pressure on your shoulder), and helps prevent the end of the strap from flapping around. It is a critical component, in my opinion.I did contact the seller to let them know my shoulder pad was missing and request a replacement. While they were prompt in their reply, they would not agree to send a replacement pad because they said it would be too costly to send one, as they are located in India. Instead, they offered a $5 refund, which I reluctantly accepted. (I'd rather have the pad! I doubt I'll ever find a suitable replacement pad, and if I do, I'm sure it will cost me way more than $5!)One other point about the strap: there are only 5 punched holes, which severely limits it's adjustability. I'm 5' 8", and even at it's shortest setting, the strap is way too long for my body. I will probably end up finding a leather punch and adding more holes to shorten it up.Quick summary: The bag itself is really nice--good quality leather (and nice brown color), nice lining, and decent hardware. But there are serous issues with the strap: no included shoulder pad and very limited length adjustability.

I’ve had this bag for 4 or 5 years now and it is insanely durable for the price. I use it every day for work and it is still in the exact same condition it was in when I purchased it. Could not say enough good things about this bag. Definitely looks like it costs three times the price as well

Had mixed feelings on this product based on previous reviews but overall I am satisfied. Shipping was quick and arrived shortly after ordering. They were minor flaws with stitching but nothing noticeable. No obscure smell other than that of leather. Metal pieces were on the cheaper side but will work just fine. Overall, the bag was smaller than unanticipated and won't fit much more than my computer and maybe a few folders. But for the price it's a good product

I really like this bag. As was written by some buyers, the buckle quality leaves something to be desired, but for this price, come on. The other complaint some had was the smell. Yeah it smells, like leather. I like that the bag has a leather strap, and the handle is sturdy and big enough for my large hands. There is ample room for my Lifeproof encased iPad, and lots more stuff. There's plenty of room

When I purchased this, there was no review written. Since the price is pretty good, I purchased it anyway, and I'm not disappointed. Leather is soft, and it has many divisions/ pockets. The zipped pocket outside is a good touch - I can store/ access my cellphone without having to open the bag.My 14" laptop (not ultrabook) fits perfectly and it's secure with the padded lining. I'm not sure though if the strap will be strong for a heavy laptop. The only minor downside is that the pen and business card holders are too small to be even functional.

I have never written a review before but I am compelled to warn shoppers about how awful is this bag. I have purchased hundreds of items from Amazon.com previously and only returned five of them because wrong size. This one, however, must go back. The bag emits a horrible smell. I put it on the porch a week ago to air it out but the bad odor didn't diminish. I cannot even use my porch because of the putrid smell. On top of the odor, the bag is very sticky. When I touch it, my fingers get sticky (and stinky) too. Stay away!

So far it seems to be good. There was a lot of fraying around the zipper on the back, and some of the stitching on the handle is coming loose. I will have to wait and see to judge its durability.

Love this satchel. Perfect case for my MacBook Pro with plenty of storage. Yes, it smells...like leather. Only knock so far is there is no handle as in the picture.
