Cute book
My son loves these books and they encourage reading. Some very simple words and other unusual words help to grow vocabulary.

Great book
We really liked this one where you read to the child and they read to you.

Reading together is like play
Granddaughter loves reading these scary stories. Short and funny stories. Nice addition to a child's library. She reads them at bedtime. A nice interactive lesson. Encourages reading without tension. Pictures brings the stories to life. The reading scripts are written in different colors so you feel like you are playing a character. Short and sweet, no tension.

a novel concept
I bought it as a present for a friend's 4 year old Grandson, as she would be visiting with his family in Minnesota for the summer. I thought it would be something they would like to do together, and also start to teach the boy to understand reading. The book was a hit! The first reading left him with his eyes as big as saucers. It took a few times for him to say he wished the stories were "scarier" He also seemed to get with the concept of reading and was "reading" it to his Grandma before the end of the visit. There are other titles in the series. I am pretty sure his birthday and Christmas will include some of them.

I love this series as much as my kids
We keep coming back to these books over the years. These are great for learning how to read. The rhythm and the rhyme helps kids work their way though words that might otherwise be above their reading level. Because the kid and adult alternate reading short paragraphs, the kid doesn't get bogged down in the text and the story keeps the momentum going. For older kids who already have reading skills, the back-and-forth banter format is just plain fun to read.Highly recommended!

Engaging for young readers and their parents or grandparents
My grandson, age 5, has just learned to read and he is very excited about his new skill. The You Read to Me; I'll Read to You is a very effective, interactive way to engage young readers and share their joy of books. By reading with children when they are very young, parents improve their performance in school and hopefully initiate a lifelong love of reading.

Not too spooky, but still a great book
My daughter really loves these books. They make great bedtime stories for beginner readers, especially when you want a short story as opposed to a whole book. The different colors prompt who reads what, which makes it even easier. I have to say that I had hoped this book would be a little more “spooky”, but it was more cute than scary. Thankfully she loves it nonetheless.
