I will start off by saying I was very dubious about the quality of this razor for the price. Having never used one before, I didn't want to spend a great deal just in case i couldn't get to grips with it, I couldn't have been more wrong! Great price considering all the extras you get with it. I'll start with the cons :The razor needs a little tweak to fold in half.The Boar bristle brush smells very strongly, I am hoping this will fade in time.That's it!Pros:Lightweight and sleek design.Real Boar bristle brushComes with scissors, lovely travel pouch and comb guide.10 blades.Overall I am extremely satisfied with my order, excellent value for money and a great introduction into the world of open razors. Oh and I feel so manly!

I have wanted to get a straight edge razor for a long time now but have always been a bit wary of them, considering what Sweeny Todd was capable of, but I threw caution to the wind decided to do. (Not that I’m planning to make pies any time soon)I brought the straight edge razor for 2 reasons; firstly I wanted a more precision line in my beard, this is impossible to get from your everyday ‘Gillette’ or ‘Wilkinson Sword’ 5 blade razor that cuts the hair so close you can hear it begging for it’s own life before you make each pass over your well lubricated skin, this is thanks to that gel strip that spans the width of the razor. And secondly the environment implications to throwing away 5 blades surrounded with a plastic and rubber frame and any residue from that lubricating gel strip I mentioned earlier, just doesn’t bode well for me. So there are the reasons I made this purchase.Unfortunately I can’t write a full review on this product because I am using only 50 percent of the over all purchase, which is the Straight edge razor and the blades it comes with, as for the comb and the scissors I can only express my opinion by means of ‘proxy review’ as my friend is now using those because I simply don’t have a beard long enough to warrant keeping them to use. I can report they are very happy with them though.For the £10.09 you spend on the product I think you get plenty for your money, although I think that extra 9 pence is needed otherwise you wouldn’t get the grey drawstring bag you do with it, 9p well spent in my opinion.It is easy enough to use considering it was my first time using one. Just take your time and don’t rush with it, otherwise you WILL look like Mr. Todd didn’t do his job right.It is very well built and sturdy, I’m glad it doesn’t open and close like a butterfly knife as you will never be able to pay attention to what you’re doing fully. I appreciate the look of brushed metal which it another reason why I went for this one too.Overall I am very happy with my purchase and if anyone would ask me for a recommendation I would happily give it to them. Unless they are looking to make a sequel on Fleet Street then I would recommend they look for the next winner of the Great British Bake Off.

Its been 2 weeks since using the product and I have no complaints. It's easy to use but if you are a first time user of straight razors your first shave may produce some nicks here and there. After that you get used to holding it correctly and it shaves closer than my regular shaving blade. Leaves literally a smooth finish on the skin. Good value for money. The comb/template also helps me keep the beard lines equal and I am still on the first blade (if you maintain and correctly clean them) they last a very long time.

This grooming kit is of premium quality steel and you can tell because it’s thick and heavy compared to one I am replacing since it was cheaper.This kit has all the basics I needed, a brush , scissors, cut throat razor and spare blades and the main thing... beard shaping tool.These all came in a well presented pouch with drawstrings.I can now shape both my face sides beard without one side being different to the other.

Blades don't stay in so cheaply made that the 2 little bits that keep blade in place don't as not big enough and don't clip in

Where do I start? Highly lethal if you don't know how to use. My suggestion is to practice practice practice! I've learned the hard way and received some minor cuts and skin grazes, purely on the fact I've never used one before. Nice little bag to put your sturdy cut throat, metal comb/ template and really easy to change blades. Nice idea to have snap in half blades. Really good piece of kit, will never go back to razors.

Don't use the razor blades supplied, without using a strap on them, or they will take chunks out of your face. other than that, they are sturdy and seem well made, for the price.

The razor holds the blades perfectly, the scissors are very good quality and sharp. Not a fan of the metal comb but i wouldn't consider that a deal breaker.
