Great Pretenders Captain Hook Hat Dress-Up Play

This hat is sized for preschoolers - it was a very tight fit on my 5 year old son. It is a bit stretchy so I can get it on him with some effort, but it is too snug to wear for long. It's about right for my almost 2.5 year old daughter's head, though the tag says "ages 3+". Based on size, I would guess it would fit ages 2-4. The hat is made of black foam material with a velour-like finish and fancy gold brocade around the rim front and back, and an applique of bones on the front in shiny gold material. Hat is kind of taco-shaped. Very cute as part of a pirate costume! Be sure to cut the little plastic connector that it is packaged with - it holds the rims together at the top, or it won't look right.It is so cute for a pirate costume, but I was disappointed due to it's small size.

So far this Pirate Hat is a big hit. It is handcrafted in Canada. Looks great. Is soft but has lots of structure. If your kid gets hot, you could make some holes on the top with a hole puncher.I've taken some pictures so if you find them helpful please rate them. =_)

This hat was the perfect addition to my 2 yr old's Capt. Hook Halloween costume! It fit him just right and is very well made. Quite a bit sturdier than I was expecting. Definitely not for larger heads but it fit our needs perfectly.

My 2.5 year old daughter *loves* this hat so much! It's made of soft, velour-covered foam and has excellent structure for its price--it's not floppy at all. She likes to wear it sideways too, and plays quite hard with it, and it has withstood her ravishings very well. So far, her favorite thing is to put it on and march around saying, "Arrrrr! Treasure! I'm a pirate! Arrrr!" which is incredibly cute. She has a very large head for a toddler, and it fits her snugly, so I'll likely try to enlarge the band a bit as she grows. It's definitely the best $8 I've spent on a toy, game or piece of clothing for her so far. ;)

My two year old girl is going to be a pirate for Halloween. But the hat that came with her costume was so flimsy and packed in so poorly, it was mangled beyond recognition (it was supposed to be a tri-corner hat..despite our attempt at rehab, it still looked like a beat up miners hat).Anyway, this hat is very well made and is a great fit for my daughter (with room to grow). Its a great size, and would likely fit heads from about 2-8. The detail is sewed on, and really makes this hat special.Best of all, my little one loves it. She has been wearing it like crazy ever since it arrived. I can't wait to see it paired with her little pirate outfit come Halloween.

Looks well made, material good thickness. Not thin & flimsy. Good size for child’s head. Should stand up pretty well to boys play.

It's so hard to try to determine the quality of an item from an online picture. This one looked good and I am not disappointed. It is a soft fabric, not hard, but it has form that it holds nicely. It's not at all flimsy and the detailing is very nice. The picture doesn't really do that justice. The hat looks great and is a good size for a child. I definitely recommend this hat for a child to use for play.

I bought it for a 3 year old and the size is perfect. It is easy to put on and stays on too (just remember to cut the thread that keeps it folded). It looks good too.

My grandson was over the moon with this hat. The quality is superb and it fits well with no worries about it falling off. It looks amazing and we have many many pirate hats. Thanks.

Bought it for an ardent Pirate fan of the junior variety and his parents can't get him to take it off.
