Plane Sights Blade Pitot Tube Cover

I had been searching for a while for a new cover for my blade style pitot tube on my DA40, this one fits perfectly.

I was worried this would not fit the Piper gear extension pitot mast since it is bigger than a typical blade style pitot. It does fit.

This seems like a well made product and I expect that it will be durable. Attaches securely to my pitot tube, but you have to use two hands. One hand to hold the bungee string and one hand to hold the Velcro strap. So it’s a little awkward working under a Cherokee wing. But that’s the way it goes with a low wing.

The Plane Sights Pitot Tube Cover is bright and long enough that during pre-flight it can't be missed. I use this one on a DIamond DA-40, which has the blade style pitot. The key to using this pitot cover is to slide it onto the blade then gently tug the bungee loop and finally secure the velcro strap around the top. The cover is totally secure at that point. The streamer shines bright, especially at night when light is at a minimum. It is important to keep the pitot tube covered when the aircraft is not in flight, to keep insects and debris from clogging the opening. This one works great. Always do your checklist!

This is the second one of these I have had - last one blew off in a gale - this one is a harder smooth surfaced material - overall very good.
