Great British Bake Off: Christmas (The Great British Bake Off) Hardcover – December 1, 2014

I have watched all the "Great British Bake Offs" on our local Public TV. Then I was able to catch the Christmas Special. This book has all the recipes from the three Christmas shows hosted by Paul Hollywoood and Mary Berry, as well as recipes from the Bake Off contestants. The photos are just beautiful and the recipes will make you drool. Of course, you will have to make adjustments for measurements and some ingredients. But that is nothing that a kitchen scale won't fix. If you never bake anything from this book (unlikely) it is still a great holiday cookbook.

I am a big fan of The Great British Baking Show and I love to bake. I will be trying some of these in the near future. I am going to use the European way of measuring as I think the results will be closer to the expected outcome. Excited to find a copy of this.

Received this Cook book promply--ahead of time before Christmas--and wife was extremly pleased. Easy to read and follow and anxious to try some of the ideas. Only drawback for us is to convert English measurements into Amercan prior to beginning cooking. A simple conversion chart with the book for those of us in the "colonies' would be very helpful.

This book is more than just a baking book like others from The Great British Baking Show. It has recipes for things like baked ham. You will find things like Christmas Cake and steamed Christmas puddings. This is not a book for novice bakers and cooks. Also you have to use a scale as measurements are given in grams. You can convert to ounces but if you want to use this book and other British cookbooks you should invest in a scale that measures in grams. It will prevent the tedious effort of converting grams to ounces. There is no table that goes from grams to cups and Alexa will tell you that she can’t make that conversion. Even if you don’t actually bake from this book, it is an enjoyable read and a good primer on the traditional British holiday foods.

My only gripe is that its a bit on the old side so none of the newer bakers are in there. You will definitely need a food scale for these recipes if you don't have one yet (well worth it honestly!)

This is my second copy of this cookbook! I bought one for myself and loved it so much I bought an additional one to give as a Christmas gift! PAPERBACKSHOP.CO.UK packaging of the cookbook was stellar, it arrived in bubble wrap packaging and a cardboard sleeve to further protect the book! Kudos to them!

Wish there was a little more dish recipes but it is baking so I guess it’s not a surprise. I still love it.

Another book, my daughter requested for Christmas. She is an avid reader, and was very happy to receive it.

I love this book!!! I made the ham and parsley casserole with the Brussel sprouts-- DELICIOUS!!! Many more recipes I am looking forward to trying. The only problem I have is with the ham recipe which calls for an unsmoked on the bone ham. I have no idea what this and the two butchers I have asked didn't seem to have a straight answer either.Hope I can find one before Christmas.

Lovely book. I pre ordered this and as soon as it arrived I quickly had to make the apple and pear crumble cake as I had loads in the fruit bowl. So quick and easy but so tasty! Looking through there are lots of recipes to try that aren't all "Christmasy" so its a good autumn/winter traditional baking book. Great!

I was so excited when I received this (on a Sunday 2 days after purchasing with free delivery - good work Amazon, very impressive!) Great range of recipes (I did look at the other reviews before buying and a kind reviewer had listed all the recipes). I agree with another reviewer that it could maybe do with a picture of every recipe but then there would be less room for as many actual recipes in the book. I think I'm now going to spend every weekend between now and Christmas practising - I'm sure my family won't mind!
