How will the edge hd 1100 work with a celestron cgem? please help.

That would be pushing the mount to its limit for visual use. It wouln't work well for photography, and if you add the weight of a guide scope, it won't work at all. The Sky-Watcher EQ6 has more headroom in that rated 40 pound capacity than the CGEM does. If you want to stay pure Celestron, look foe either a CGX mount or one of the recently discontinued CGEM DX or CGE Pro mounts. There are still plenty of the latter to be had at deep discount.

Can this telescope be used on any dovetail mount?

No, this is a vixen style dovetail (1.75” wide). If your mount uses CGE (3” wide), then you will need to get an adapter either from your tripod/mount manufacturer or a third party company like ADM.

What is the diameter of the ota itself (not the mirror)? this is needed to properly size an electroluminescent flat panel.

I have a 8 " EDGE HD scope but both of my 11" SCTS are not EDGE HD. They are older models and with carbon fiber tubes so while I can measure those it MAY be different than mine. Let me know how critical the measurement needs to be.

Will this work with a sky-watcher eq6-r – fully computerized goto german equatorial telescope mount?

The sky-watcher eq6-r has a dual vixen-losmandy saddle. The mounting plate on the C11 EHD is a CGE. Either need to find an interface adapter or replace the plate. Also, the C11EHD weighs 28lbs, bare bones. The mount is rated for 44lbs. Might want to get a slightly beefier mount if you're going to do astrophotography.
