I own an HP 12C calculator. Bought this one thinking I was ordering me a toy. After using it for fifteen minutes I decided HP could be having real competition if finance professionals discovered this machine. Later I learned it's no longer in production.Good overall construction. Accurate calculations, identical results to the HP 12C. Easily switchable between Reverse Polish Notation (RPN), which many professionals prefer, and the standard Algebraic Notation. Keys do not have the traditional HP "click" feel (assuming we're not comparing to one from the HP batches that exhibited inherent keypad problems, later addressed by the company). Nevertheless, I feel confident and secure when the V12 keys are pressed.The carrying case is far superior to HP's. Display is clear (read how to adjust contrast on manual's page 5). Machine slightly larger in size, which to me is desirable as it makes it easier to hold and work with. Fulfilled by Amazon, at approximately $10.00 including shipping, unbeatable value. I would recommend calculator highly. Above that price, I would be skeptical simply because of the likelihood of leaky batteries (see below).CAUTION: POSSIBLY LEAKY BATTERIESThis machine is sold by various independent merchants - orders fulfilled by Amazon.Badly leaking batteries HAVE been reported probably because calculators have been sitting on warehouse shelves for years. Such has been the case with one of the two V-12 calculators I have purchased. Fortunately batteries are not installed on calculator so no damage is done to the contacts.I congratulate one of the merchants, "Niche-Supply", for their candid disclosure about battery condition on their listing.Regrettably, my seller "musicfiendz" has ignored a courteous letter I sent informing them of damage to the package contents due to leaky batteries.Nevertheless, the machine itself is worth the $10.00 price. I would suggest that buyers install new fresh batteries and not rely on those supplied in the package, regardless of their apparent condition.

Perfect. Just what was needed. Brand new in the box - although batteries were not working. Still for the money, it was a good deal.
