Love this little thing.
I use this with Bose speakers that I was using to listen to music on my I-phoneThe speakers originally were for a computer but I use it for my i-phone. To attach this pickup, I obtained a cord that has standard size jack on one end and it fits into the Pickup, and the other end is smaller much narrower jack and it fits into the sub woofer of my speakers and it picks up the sound very well. It is not very loud like a regular amp/speaker used for a guitar. But it is great for me to practice at home. I also tried it on a regular Amp/speaker of my friend's system and it works beautifully. Sometimes it may pickup the sound from the amp/speaker itself and may cause a resonance but that is solved by turning the speaker away from the pickup. The pickup is very sensitive yet does not pick up any hum or fuzz or scruffy sounds from my hands moving on the frets. To play outdoor at a festival, or in an auditorium, I would need a regular guitar amp/speaker.

Sounds great, great company.
Company really stood behind its products and sent me two replacements units after I complained about having broken them when changing batteries. They make my hawg fiddle sound great - but be careful when changing batteries as it is a little too easy to break the wires - at least for me and my clumsiness.

Slick & easy to use!
I just got this tonight and spent about a half hour playing with it. It is amazing! Totally plug & play! I plugged it into my keyboard amp & my dulcimer sounded crystal clear. I still have to figure out how to attach it, since the dulcimers I'll be using it with are at school & not at home. Between the website & the Amazon reviews, I have some good ideas for attaching it, so I don't expect that to be a problem.

The perfect pickup for acoustic instruments that are hard to buy pickups for.
We had been trying to find a decent pickup for my wife's dulcimer, and since you're looking at this you probably already know it's hard to find good pickups that work well in dulcimers. We had tried a round piezo stick-on pickup previously that wasn't expensive but the sound was not full or natural. I finally discovered the Myers pickup on-line, and what I immediately liked was the idea that it's a microphone instead of a piezo pickup. Microphones simply give a more full and natural sound, but it's hard to get an ordinary mic close enough to this type of instrument to be effective while out of the way. Once it arrived and we gave it an initial tryout, we discovered that her dulcimer's finish wasn't suction cup friendly, so I removed the suction cup and cut some velcro to fit (I highly suggest this - I used a small piece of gaffer tape under the velcro on the instrument for easy removal). This was definitely the best way to go. As for the sound, imagine being able to get a great-sounding microphone right down into your instrument's sound hole so that you're getting the most pure and natural sound possible - strong low end with crystal clear highs. This is exactly what you get with the Myers. There is the obvious possibility of feedback since it's a mic, but it's not bad at all. I deal with more feedback issues on vocal mics and cajon mic than with these things. And speaking of cajon mics, I liked this one so much that I ordered another Myers for my cajon! They make a different model without the gooseneck that works well for that situation, but it's essentially the same thing. Anyway, we've had a chance to gig several times with our Myers pickups and at this point we can't imagine wanting to use anything else. I'm not some kind of paid endorser - I paid full price here on Amazon so you can believe me when I say you can buy this product with confidence.

Works great on mountain dulcimer
The pickup is superb. Volume easy to adjust. Use on mountain dulcimer to lead a group. Does not resonate with any movement on my part. Had some difficulty with mounting the pickup to stay in place. Called Gregg Myers and he sent me the solution with 3 extra batteries! Great service and fantastic product. Would not hesitate to order this pickup.

Works great. Only issue was the way it is mounted on a dulcimer. It is in the way of strumming. Had to return because of this and while on phone with Amazon got an email from Myers asking me to call.Discussed issue, they are exchanging for one with a longer mic neck so it can be mounted out of the way. Now that is customer service. For mountain dulcimer the 6" wire mic is better.

All of the ones I used produced low quality sound and when I tried to record my music with them there was a terrible hum and lot
I've tried many other "stick" on pickups. All of the ones I used produced low quality sound and when I tried to record my music with them there was a terrible hum and lots of body noise. In essence : EPIC FAIL. The Myer's pick up is absolutely GREAT! Once you get it to stick on your instrument then it's a matter of plug and play. NO NOISE and pure sound that replicates my dulcimer perfectly!

Great Pick Up - and great customer service!
I love acoustic sound and I do "sound healing" -I'm a "soundbath facilitator" - this means I play "music" and create acoustic "sound & vibration" for sound meditations....I purchased this pick up to be able to play my delicate GRAND CONCERT MONOCHORD by FEELTONE (through an amp) at bigger venues but maintain the sweetness of the sound of this beautiful wooden instrument made by master luthiers in Germany. The quality of this pick up is exactly what I was looking for! However, I had a problem with the suction cup which was not sticking to the light satin finish of my monochord.I called Gregg - the owner of the company and he was super helpful & kind in finding a solution that would keep the pick up in place and the satin finish of my instrument unharmed!5 STARS all the way around!

UPDATE: A superb microphone badly let down by a flimsy battery compartment.
The media could not be loaded. 2016 REVIEW: I am just stunned, blown away by the quality of this pick up. I play the Mountain Dulcimer, but is so hard, I have found, to make a good recording. Either the sound , through the mic, is too loud, unbalanced, harsh sounding or it's way too quiet. The Myers Pick Up, absolutely is going to transform everything ! I can't wait to experiment and see just what is possible now !I have made a short video comparing the sound quality :2021 UPDATE: The Myers Microphone has served me well, since 2016. However when I went to change the battery a little while ago, the tab holding the battery in place had become so fragile over time it snapped, rendering the mic useless. In my experience the rather convoluted battery change procedure has always been the mic’s weakest component, even so I could not believe it when the flimsy plastic tab inside disintegrated. The battery holder on my model, in my opinion, is not fit for purpose. It may have been updated since, I don’t know. I contacted the company about it, but did not receive a reply.
