Planet Ultra Powdered Laundry Detergent, White, Unscented, 256 Ounce (Pack of 4)

If you live in a rural location and are on well water, you've probably experienced your clothes washer developing a foul odor. Keeping the door or lid open so everything tries out doesn't help. Neither vinegar nor chlorine is a long-term solution. My appliance repair a guy gave me a tip: avoid laundry detergents that use enzymes. The enzymes take any organic material from the water and turn them into a stinky sludge which accumulates in nooks and crannies in your washing machine. I used to use another "free and clear" detergent with enzymes. I switch to this one, and no more odor! It also seems to work better. The clothes come out smelling clean and fresh. And by that, I mean no smell, no fragrance. The only thing I don't like about this powder product is the box it comes in. Powder gets between the layers of cardboard and when you open it powder spills out. I'm going to try the liquid.

Over a year ago I researched laundry detergents wanting to find one that was natural, safe, and eco friendly. I visited Environmental Working Group's site and Planet came back with a rating of A, so I decided to order from Amazon. Just yesterday I was sharing with a friend about what laundry detergent I use and told her it was rated well in and went to EWG's site. I discovered that it is now rated an F with some concern about cancer, reproductive and developmental toxicity. I am appalled!! I ordered this detergent thinking it was safe to use for my infant sons clothes. I immediately cancelled my subscribe and save and am in the process of trying to send a full box (containing 4 boxes) and a half used box back. I'm switching to Seventh Generation Powder Free and Clear.

The most important thing when looking for a laundry soap for sensitive skin is that it actually gets odor out of clothes. I have hyperhydrosis, so I sweat a lot. Let me tell you my clothes come out smelling like nothing at all, just clean laundry. And the formula works well for my husband's sensitive skin. Also love the cardbord packaging as it's so easy to recycle!

If you have sensitive / eczema prone / allergic skin this is for you. I cannot stand anything with scent and liquid detergents bother me like you would not believe. This stuff works. Cleans the clothes and does not make your skin fall off. PS - I’m in the medical field. Recommend to anyone with sensitive skin / for babies / those with allergies.

I really wanted to love this detergent because it’s cheap and eco friendly. I used it for a few months and started noticing that my clothes were starting to wear faster (more pilling, not soft, unraveling threads, etc.). I also had to throw out a pair of new Ugg sheets because they started to pill so badly after one wash that they felt like sandpaper. I recently switched to Dropps and am SHOCKED at the difference. My clothes and sheets feel like silk compared to when I was using this detergent. Please, save yourself (and your clothes) and just don’t use this detergent.

I've been trying to find more eco-friendly products to use around the house, and I do a LOT of laundry with two dogs and two kids, so I thought I'd try this. It seems to work fine, but it doesn't have the same stain-fighting power as Tide. I'll probably still buy this to use on things like towels, sheets, and lightly soiled clothes - but anything that needs a bit more oomph, I'll keep using Tide. For example, I washed the kids clothes in this, and there were still food stains on some of their shirts. Then when I re-washed the clothes after they'd worn them again, I used Tide, and the old (and new) stains were almost all gone. No detergent is perfect, but don't expect this one to work the same as whatever you're switching from!

I'm pretty natural/organic when it comes to my style of living. I have 1 daughter and when pregnant with her, I wanted to make sure I was seeking out the best products that were non toxic so when she was born, I'd be making sure her exposure to chemicals and toxins were limited (as far as what I can control).It gets my clothes clean. It does not have scent not do I use anything that does. Scents are synthetic so I just add essential oils to my dryer balls (another great product to use in place of dryer sheets) if I'm looking to have a fresh smell to my clothes.I usually buy the 4 pack as its the best bang for the buck. This used to be a S&S option. I hope that that returns!!!!!If you're a parent looking to "clean up" your home products so your family has less exposure to harmful chemicals, know that this is a quality product that you can feel good about switching to.

No scent, cleans well even with our hard water. Much cheaper than other unscented powdered detergents. I originally bought this because it was cloth diaper friendly but I’ve been so happy with it I kept using it.

I am happy with this brand of soap for it has no fragrance and it does clean my clothes. I find the boxes leak the powder out of the seams so when opening a new box I have to pour it into a container. Not a big deal but when the large box was delivered I noticed a small pile of powder at my front door and again when I brought it in and inside the box was a small handful of loose powder. I wonder how many times it was picked up and put down and how many little piles were left behind.
