Works great as a thickener.
Did repair work on my transom and this mixed well with the epoxy. A gallon goes a very long way. For my project I only used about 15% of the gallon I bought. My advice, don’t over buy.

Excellent filleting and no sagging. Also works great for fly fishing!
Combining with polyester resin this made for excellent body to hold where I needed it to. I was able to fill and have it stay in place without sagging. The consistency was outstanding. I’ll definitely be buying this again for future projects. My friend used a little with his fly fishing lures and he said it really helped dry his flies out very fast so they could float on the top of the water. It’s got a lot of good uses. I’m keeping it on my shopping list.

For small jobs you can over do it.
I bought this as a filler with fiberglass resin and 30 minute epoxy. It does work. The Fiberglass resin really gummed up the paper and when added to 30 minute epoxy it really rushed the cure time to about 7 minutes. Never seen that before. Once it set up and cooled off (I measured the epoxy/hardner in equal amounts with a digital scale) it became very brittle and was able to basically scrape it off flush. Easy sanding... This job is not a critical job just filling in some holes in an old fiberglass boat helm. I dont know why the glue set up as quickly as it did. The first batch I mixed was perfect(No fumed Silica). This batch not so much. Guess I shoulda took chemistry in High School. Excellent product. Any faults are mine. Not theirs. I'm learning as I go.

Fluffy wonderfulness
This mixed wonderfully with total boat epoxy. The consistency was very smooth yet had enough body to easily stick where I wanted it to, it was somewhere between jelly and whipped cream. It dried easily and felt like a very hard plastic with the color ranging from hazy clear to white depending on how thick it was applied. I used quite a bit in my project and ran out, I tried using wood fiber, although it worked it was no where neapr as nice to work with or as nice to look at as the Cabosil. I have now purchased a second jar. Wonderful stuff!

Decent option, not the best
We tried this one for some work we had but found it to be a little more difficult to mix in than some others. Not sure if maybe it was older and had somehow absorbed more moisture or what happened there. Have since gone to another brand that seems to work a bit better. For small work where you can use a screen to get the clumps out I have no doubts this one would be perfect but we just didn't have the best experience with bulk use.
