Must read.
Nine year old grandson doing virtual learning this year. We are descendents of William Clark. The dog Seaman, a Newfoundland was barely mentioned in the history lessons. He read this book very quickly and loved it. It is a timeless book.

TRUE to LIFE Story
This is an amazing TRUE story of how Lewis and Clark discovered the Pacific Northwest ending up at the PACIFIC Ocean along with the help of a AWESOME Newfoundland Dog. Adults and children should enjoy reading about this historical journey.

An ode to unsung heroes
Dog of Discovery takes an unusual perspective looking at Lewis' and Clark's expedition - a new and refreshing focus on Seaman, the faithful Newfoundland accompanying Captain Lewis. It offers many amazing, well-researched day-to-day details that tend to fall by the wayside in conventional reportages. The style is lively and easy to read, but the book is not only for youngsters. Adults will find it just as compelling and hard to put down. Highly recommended!

this was for my granddaughter
We have a Newfoundland dog so I read it . I enjoyed it . It was in journal form with just dated entries, not like a novel. The service and condition was good
