CretacolorArtists Lead, Sanguine Oil

I love this oil sepia lead because it's sterdy, and I love to drawing with sepia color, right now I'm obsessed with this. And also, I love Cretacolor, wonderful products!

As an illustration major, I was getting frustrated with how often I would sharpen away half of a pencil. I purchased a holder for these "leads" and have loved it ever since. Additionally, I have seen these shipped in poor containers but I received this in a small protected box, which I really appreciate considering how fragile these "leads" can be.Pros: awesome color and system for cretacolor holdersCons: fragile, but no more than any artists pencilConclusion: I love the freedom and speed this adds to my artwork.

And believe me, I've tried them all.

This is a nice white chalk, but it was packaged poorly and arrived broken into pieces. There was protective paper in the box, but the chalk was put on the bottom of the box under the paper, so it didn’t do anything.

The leads are really nice to use and produce a rich black with virtually no shine. However, I can only give three stars because it contained only five packs instead of the six advertised and indicated on the box. If there is a way to send me the sixth pack, I will revise my review.

Will use for quick sketches. Good price.

Still fits my holder very well.Some breakage if I extend the leads too far out.But they are soft enough and do make a very good black mark.I want to shape the ends like a chisel, and work turning the edges to get a varying width of lines and textures, kind of the way Degas manipulated his pastels.It seems that could work well, considering the way it draws.The first drawing I made using the leads turned out very well, its a large sized Nero lead and pastel drawing on buff paper.I can really see those marks!I wish Creatacolor would make a white lead like this that is more soft than the ones out there.
