Very nice
Very nice quality. Large enough to be used on the alter, it really holds allot. Small enough to carry on visitation.

A great pyx when you need to transport a larger number of communion wafers
Our church has a nursing home ministry where we take pre-consecrated communion weekly to 35-40 people. We needed a portable pyx that would accommodate this many wafers - most only fit about 10. This is working out great. The zippered carry case ensures that the wafers remain secure in our bag during transportation, the gold finish tarnishes periodically but polishes up beautifully with brass cleaner and looks lovely on our altar. The shoulder strap is convenient when we return to our home church and have to transport the remaining wafers back up to the church's tabernacle.

Simple and very elegant.
Beautiful pyx but much larger than what I expected. Wish the description was a bit more thorough, e.g., depth in addition to diameter. Photo makes it appear very thin and it is not.

Not suitable for most EM's. Very difficult to open. It does not have the typical pyx method of opening. There is no hinge and no button or latch on the side to pop it open. Rather the top cover simply slides over the main portion. The top fits snugly, and the sides come down almost to the bottom. To open it, you have to try to grab a portion of the bottom with one hand and try to lift off the top with the other hand. On the positive side, it is large enough for many hosts and the price, which includes the burse, is reasonable. It would be suitable for a single large-group communion service, such as in a nursing home. However, if the EM needed to visit shut-ins who could not attend the large service, it would not be feasible to use this pyx. It would be too difficult to try to open and close it in the individual rooms. One possible use: bring two pyx's; this one for the large group (only have to open it once) and a standard, smaller size for individual room visits.
