Amazing!!
I highly recommend this book to all people, not just women, that are just now finding their faith. I was not raised in the church. I never even knew who Jesus was or what he did. This book was very insightful and I couldn’t put it down! I will use this book to help me continue to grow and as encouragement to keep going and growing

GET THIS BOOK!
This book is soooooo good and insightful! I'm normally not a big fan of self help books but i love this because it doesn't make you feel like your broken and need fixing. A great short book to read and give to new faith followers.

A witty memoir of a young woman's finding faith.
So, I've been following this author in Instagram for a bit and when I saw that she'd written a book, I wanted to support her and give it a read. All in all, I enjoyed it very much (and finished it in one sitting). It's a short book (which I like) and Ashley's candor and wit is exceedingly refreshing. Though my faith experience was nothing like hers, I still felt inspired by her words and found myself desiring to pursue God even more wholeheartedly (and honestly). Since I read her book, I've definitely been more intentional about trying to pray more openly and honestly rather than trying to "get it all right." That was the major takeaway for me from this book--and, for that alone, it was well worth the read.Really, the only issue (if you can even call it that) is the part where she talks about what to expect from different churches and small groups. While I have no doubt that these have been her experiences, they are not necessarily what to expect from all churches/small groups and my concern (again, if we can even really call it that) is that someone might read her book and walk into a church service/small group setting that is structured VERY differently and be confused by what they find. This is not to say that said type of service/small group is better or worse than what Ashley describes, but if you're expecting one thing because someone told you this is what to expect and you end up in something really different, it can be a little jarring...That being said, I definitely recommend giving this little memoir a read and I look forward to reading more of the author's work in the future.

Not just for beginners
I’ve considered myself a Christian my entire life. I’m been struggling a lot recently with faith, purpose, patience and everything else a girl does in her mid 20’s. I saw this was written by someone that was in my graduating class and I was intrigued. I was hesitant to order it since the title said it was for beginners and I definitely didn’t consider myself a beginner when it comes to the Christian faith. However out of curiosity I ordered it anyway. There were so many points I got out of this book that I thought I had mastered but clearly need more focusing on. This is indeed a wonderful book for beginners but also an even more wonderful book as a reminder to someone that may be losing a sense of purpose or direction and feels lonely in their stage of life or faith. Ashley did a wonderful job in making having a relationship with Jesus welcoming, realistic, and non-intimidating with a touch of humor which makes it fun to read.

Great book - but missing pages
I loved the idea behind this book. I was really enjoying it, but pages 39-50 were completely missing. Disappointed in the incomplete product.

My first Christian Friend in the form of a Book
I absolutely loved this book!!As someone who's been interested in Christianity for quite some time now but has no community it's very difficult to get into things. There's so many questions but nobody to ask. There's so many things I'm nervous about but I have no one to guide me. This book is extremely informative for a beginner as it's not just about things you can easily google but an insight into community, struggle and doubt. There's many helpful tips and applications to incorporate Christ into your daily life. Plus it's written in a style that makes you feel like you're talking to a friend (who's also a mentor). It's written in a light and fun way and I enjoyed every page. I was honestly sad when I finished it :) Big big recommendation!

Much food for thought
I really, really enjoyed this book. I couldn't even put it down and have read it in one sitting. Maybe you won't think it is the most profound Christian book you've ever read. However, it still belongs to the best ones I've ever read: it's easy to read and provides many exciting thoughts that still ring in your ear as you walk through your day. It is also an excellent book for beginners: It poses and answers questions some people might be ashamed to ask personally, and it's an excellent overview. Additionally, it offers a glimpse into Ashley Hetherington's life and her faith journey. Sometimes, reading her book felt like talking to a friend.
