Q: Which one is the best add on for support insoles -1/4, 1/8 or 1/16?

1/4” is a good start. Incremental increases of 1/8” thickness can be added until symptoms “disappear”. Poron can also be added in 1/8” increments until symptoms suddenly start to present and then reduced until symptoms resolve. Remember that symptoms can present at a variety of sites in the lower extremity kinetic chain.

I guess so. Buying a thicker piece of poron to begin with might be a better way to go, however.

I've been using 1/8" Poron and that seems to be thick enough to add significant absorption (you'll definitely feel the difference) while not making your shoes too tight. I usually use this after the EVA insoles of my shoes have flattened and are no longer giving much cushion, so there's usually room for more cushioning. Keep in mind that any shoes you use this on should be a bit loose, and be prepared to loosen your shoelaces after adding Poron. Also keep in mind that Poron weighs more than EVA, so you'll be adding weight to the shoes... not enough to bother me personally, but it's a factor. This is really a great way to get more absorption into your shoes... especially older shoes. I think I've got 1/8" Poron in almost all my shoes now... and if I eventually throw out a pair of shoes I save the Poron and use it on the next pair. Great stuff!
