I don't know if it's steel or metal, but they are heavy duty and don't bend. Nice and heavy, not flimsy.

Does the Job

I just needed something to keep books in place for a small library we have in my condo community. I didn’t want to spend a lot. These are perfect! They’re very solid and the bottoms have the no-slide feature. Very well made and do the job well!
