I THINK THE WATCH IS GREAT BUT BE CAREFUL WITH BATTERY REPLACEMENT.
Style is a matter of personal opinion but in my opinion this is a nice looking watch. The brown version is also stylish if brown is your preference. I was cursed with thin bones and a small wrist. This watch is exceptionally thin and does not look either conspicuous or out of place when I wear it. But people notice it and favorably comment on its appearance. This is the second of this specific Skagen SKW6006 watch that I have owned. After a couple years the battery failed in my initial watch. I took it to Walmart to have the battery replaced and that proved to be a significant judgment error. Walmart scratched up the back of the watch, may or may not have installed the correct battery, apparently messed up the actual watch mechanism with the battery installation since it quit working soon after, and may well have made the watch either unrepairable or uneconomically repairable. Walmart had succesfully replaced batteries in other watches that I have owned so I don't know the exact point in the chain of battery replacement events that damaged my Skagen watch. Regardless because even though I am certain that Walmart damaged my watch there is no point in challenging them since it was working when I left the store. The next morning the second hand would unsuccesfully try to advance and the watch no longer worked. I purchased from Amazon a second identical model watch at a much lower price than my first Skagen watch because I really like this model watch. I do not know if it has a valid Skagen warranty but I do know that having Walmart work on my watch invalidated the once valid first watch warranty. This was the last of two watches offered for sale by Amazon LLC at the time that it was ordered so my ordering situation may have passed when this review is read. The new watch was shipped horribly packed but it amazingly was not damaged and has been working fine for a week--not a real test. My old Skagen watch worked perfectly for several years until the battery died. Nice features--day and date. It was always accurate. The luminosity of the hands is underwhelming but I really don't care. I have read complaints about the crystal cracking. The crystal on my first watch never cracked but it does have a very minor scuff. If the watch is not properly latched it will be lost and gone forever and care is always required when putting on the watch and operating the latch. It really is an unsecure design waiting for human error. ALWAYS take the time to assure that it is correctly latched! I found the band to be comfortable. If you learn from my experience send the watch either to Skagen's authorized repair center (reported to be very reputable) or to some other reputable servicer to have the battery replaced. I have read that done correctly the gasket should be replaced if the back cover is removed. Battery replacement prices vary but considering that Walmart charged me about $7 to ruin my watch the additional expense is probably justified if you like the watch. I will probably explore if my first Skagen watch can be economically repaired but as of now I have a new watch that works perfectly.

worth for its price and also a good quality watch.
this is one of the first items in my watch collection. when i received it, the box was normal and when i saw, it was really good looking compared to standard watches. the straps are good, i liked them and easy to adjust. thickness is very good, thinner than normal watches. almost a month ago started using daily and it looks very good.

Crown is tiny
Beautiful timepiece but that tiny crown makes it very difficult to set.

Great watch, take low reviews with grain of salt.
Ive owned this watch now for just about a month and Ive had many people compliment me on how nice it looks. Many like the unusual mesh watch band and also comment on how thin it is. Id had to adjust it but after reading the reviews and instructions I C-A-R-E-F-U-L-L-Y pried back the adjustment bar, fixed the length and was all set to go. Now for the only problems I experieced with this watch; I have never owned a Skagen watch so the 2 step clasp was a new experience for me and it did take a few days to get used to it. Now its no problem. I sweat very easy, so although the watch band is mesh and air gets thru my wrist my skin was still damp, especially under the watch face, no surprise. That was about it. I love how thin it is bc it feels like im not even wearing a watch! I own bigger, clunkier watches so its a nice change. As far as the negative cooments go, especially regarding the clasp, its a two piece clasp, if you only snap it closed without latching it yup it will fall off every 10 seconds. Skagen must have seen the complaints and added a very simple but easy to understand illustration of how to latch the watch, and how to adjust it. Key thing here is put the watch down on a soft cloth, read and follow directions and be gentle. I read about people complaining about the lack of replacement watch bands and yes that is something to take into consideration when purchasing this watch. Thing is I wouldnt consider this an everyday watch. Goes great with business casual attire or a suit, but if Im going to an backyard party and theres a chance we might play a little football, then Id skip wearing this and either wear something more durable or cheaper. Treat it good and theres no reason it wont last. I do recommend keeping an eye on this watch and waiting untill they go on sale to buy it. I got it for 70 bucks when Amazon had a deal on it so if it does break ill be sad but out about 30 bucks less so that cheers me up a bit. Update: Almost 3 years later watch still looks and works great but battery finally died. Replaced it and its running again hopefully for another 3 years.

Looks great, feels great, too hard to read the time.
I really wanted to like this watch, but returned it: Pro - Thin and attractive. Con - Can't read the time easily in the light since silver hands require reflection to see, luminosity is way too low in the dark. Feedback to Skagen - Lovely design, but make the hands wider, white not silver, increasing legibility, and providing more area of lume.

Slim Profile, excellent design!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I get compliments on this watch all the time. It’s slim profile and unique design make it a great everyday watch. The hands are very slim and at times difficult to read. But overall a great watch and I love looking at it! The adjustable clasp design is a huge plus as you can adjust to various sizes without having to go to a jeweler to remove links. VERY functional!

Watches display right time but cannot set them to right day and date
The watches are both beautiful and functional. By the latter, I mean that they are thin enough not to tear your shirt's cuff. They also show time. The problem starts with the day and date: in three months I have been wearing these, I have failed to see a correct day and date displayed and failed to adjust them in such a way as they would stay correct for more than 12 hours. There are two positions of the rotating knob: fully extended out, it advances the clock back and forward: seemingly no problem here, right? Well, even this task is a challenge, for the knob is tiny (which is a good thing as it doesn't punch your wrist when you bend the arm) and polished (also good if you ware watches on your right hand - so it doesn't scratch the shirt's cuff), almost impossible to grip and rotate with your fingers. When it comes to the date and day change, I was not able to do it with my fingers at all, and I mean it: at all. I retreated to using tiny surgical forceps with serrated lips - but the knob would not stay in that "day change" extended position and would slip into time changing position. The day of the week problem is exacerbated by the fact that the watches I received, have English and Italian day names - thus, you have to scroll through 14 rather than seven options to get to the correct day. After about ten attempts over last three months to set the day and date correctly, the day change mechanism broke and now I cannot change the day at all - though rotating in other direction, it still does change the date. For a world traveler who needs to adjust the time, day, and date regularly when changing time zones, these watches are absolute disaster. Nice look and I like the Milanese strap and Skagen design and materials - but what good are watches that never show correct day and date? I missed the return window opportunity due to my travels - thus they will be sitting in the drawer until my next relocation to be trashed. Buy something else - including other Skagen watches.

very stylish watch from a company pretty solid record for me
I've worn Skagen watches for years and every one of them received unsolicited compliments, esp one they no longer make. But my other two lasted probably average of 6 years. Batteries need replacing every 6 mo to 1 year but they keep time well although the second hand does not precisely align with the second tics on the watch face and to me that just yells cheap. In every other way--size, weight heft, comfort, awareness--it really feels super nice and I have no doubt I will get compliments on this one too. From experience I would not subject this or any other Skagen watch to heavy duty work. It will actually take it but the crystal will get scratched or in worse cases can be cracked. In fact, that's why I needed a new watch. I tried a cheap $30 casio--perfectly acceptable and a decent watch but just not for me. So there ya have it maties..hope this info serves ya well!
